  • Camera Desk Mount Stand with Arm – Works Surprisingly Well
This camera desk mount stand with arm (technically, it's a boom arm but so small that I can't bring myself to call it that) works very well. I do a lot of product reviews and have different setups to take product photos (I'm a professional photographer.) I wanted a quick and easy method to take overhead shots of small products (I have a more traditional heavy duty setup for commercial work) and this seemed like a good choice. I was curious whether it could hold the weight they listed as the load capacity (4.4 lbs.) so I mounted my Canon EOS R10 with an EF 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens and the mount adapter. The lens and adapter add a lot of weight to the camera so I weighed it before trying the stand. The camera, lens and adapter weighed 3.2 lbs. so it more than a pound less than the listed load rating. The upright and the arm are metal and solid so I wasn't concerned about them holding the weight but the connector piece that holds the arm to the stand is plastic. In addition, the included ball head is pretty lightweight but locked down solidly. I am happy to report that the stand and arm my held camera and lens combination pretty solidly, as well. The is some wobble from the stand if you bump it but nothing that made me nervous that the camera would fall. (See the photos for the setup.) The clamp that mounts the stand to a table or desk is very well machined, reasonably heavy duty and has rubber pads on both parts that clamp to the table, which keeps it from scratching or moving. That said, I'll likely use a lighter lens in the future with this setup because I don't want to push it that much. (If I get an RF mount lens rather than using the EF lens with an adapter, I should be able to reduce the weight significantly.) I, also, tested the included phone mount with my cell phone and the stand. The cell phone mount is plastic but held my phone solidly and, obviously, the weight is significantly less than my camera setup so it put no stress on the desk mount stand. It did work well and I included a photo of the lavalier microphone I took using the stand and arm to demonstrate what kind of photo can be taken with this. Here are a couple of notes about the photos I included. I did have an LED light attached to the stand at the same time as the arm and camera. The ball head I used with the LED light and the LED light itself are my own and not included with this desktop stand. I'm quite pleased with it and will likely use it regularly. ... show more

  • I use this for a lot
Great for overhead shots, streaming, lighting, any sort of at your desk content creation you could think of. I have been able to use this to make some pretty good shots, and my only complaint with the equipment is that it bounces a little bit once you move it into position. This goes away though. Great for the price. ... show more

  • So versatile and sturdy!
This thing is just the best! There are so many options for microphone and telephone holders, and most involve some sort of friction pivot point or scissor arms, and have 1 or 2 particular use cases. This desk mount stand and arm is perfect for all sorts of applications though! My major likes: 1. Super sturdy: Raise or lower the arm and lock it down. Loosen the cam joint o adjust the angle and then lock that down. When you are done, everything is rock solid! 2. Connection versatility: They really kept it simple, the top tube of the base and the arm tube have 1/4" threaded male and female adapters to mount any sort of mounting plate you want. The ball head is nice, but I have a few other mounts which are easily accepted as well. 3. Durability: I have not major concerns about durability. Its not super thick, but the aluminum tube is of adequate thickness and the ends of the tubing are securely pressed/fastened. 4. Desk mount: The desk mount opens amply wide, and both top and bottom are lined with a grained rubber surface for both protection and grip. I have 0 complaints or changes I would make to this product. I haven't seen another product like this on the market, but the simplicity and sturdiness just make me smile. I used pieces from this to mount some Rode NT5's to the ceiling of a church for an Easter Cantata, and have no qualms about mounting my Canon R50 to this as well. Confidence inspiring. Love it. ... show more

  • Perfect for streaming and gaming
This mount is so versatile and allows for many different angles to be captured. The whole unit is easy to assemble and mount on the desk, and then is simple to adjust to find the perfect shot. I'm impressed at the quality, especially because of how lightweight it is. The clamps are sturdy and secure, so I never have to worry about sag or my device being damaged. ... show more

  • More versatile than you think
I found this boom arm/overhead mount arm to be very versatile. I've used it for lights and recently used it for some over head product photography. It's a great addition to my creative work bench.

  • sturdy
It's sturdy enough to hold my Nikon D810 with a heavy pro lens on it without a lot of shaking or arm drooping. It also comes with an adapter to hold your phone up too. Good for product shoots or document copy making.

  • Nice mount
If you need a mount for a small light or camera, even your phone, this mount works pretty well. It's not intended for heavy cameras or lights, but mounts solidly and hold the small stuff on my bench perfectly. Nice mount!

  • Good Quality and Versatile Desk-Mounted Boom Arm
This is a very nice adjustable desk-mounted boom arm. It has lots of uses and is very adjustable. The rotating attachments lock down tightly and easily. I really like the large knobs. It makes it easy to tighten and loosen them. They are also able to clamp on the bottom thicker vertical rod or the thinner boom arm or extension rod. Both the extension rod and the boom arm have ¼” threaded mounts. The included phone clamp has a built-in cold shoe which is handy if you want to attach a light, microphone, or other accessory. The clamp for the table is big enough to make for a stable mount, plus there is lots of room to attach to even a very thick table or other surface. The mount locks securely and gives a very stable mount. Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, this is a quality, portable, desk-mounted boom arm with attachments. Just wish it had another attachable boom arm. ... show more
