I wanted to say I've been a Canon user for over 20 years: DSLRs and MIRRORLESS: EOS R R3 R 5 WITH GRIP I bought the R7 strictly for YouTube videos, looking for a cage to put onto a boom mic and attach a microphone. I looked into several cage manufacturers, and their price point was too high for a camera-based around the R7, which is still an excellent camera for the price point. The first thing I noticed from the box is that they include clips for a neck harness! This is rare and a nice touch. Cold shoe on your right, several 1/4 screws on top, along with a 3/8. 41/4 screws on top, f Four on one side and another five on the other. You have five 1/4 screws on the bottom. They include a magnetic piece where you can use an Allen wrench or a screwdriver to disconnect your Swiss plate, and it's one of my favorite options for this cage. When you look inside the frame, it has two small rubber pieces where the camera lies flat. This is important in a cage because several manufacturers do not include this option, and you get rattling when you mount it onto a tripod.\ You can put a microphone, flash, and external battery pack on the top; it still fits in your hand if you want to take pictures or shoot videos. They also include three Allen wrenches because there are several bolts on here, which makes this camera cage a lot different from your average cage in a good way. It's for those tiny micro-adjustments, and the CNC manufacturing on this is comparable to a $100 cage. Looking at it from the front, I like how they put an outline for a hand grip. They took the time to CNC and correctly designed how they created the grip with the metal on a slight angle. VERY NICE TOUCH! I'll do a 30-day review with the camera rig once I set up my YouTube studio. This will be my primary camera for the YouTube studio, considering it will be modern permanently. Last, everybody knows about Canon's challenges with overheating cameras, especially when shooting 4K video. They went an extra step with this frame, designing it for heat dissipation.
