  • and NONE of them are great, but I've had my alum supports for the ...
First let me say I've had several types and brands of sewer hose supports over my many years of RV-ing, and NONE of them are great, but I've had my alum supports for the last 10 years and they are still with us. PRO: Will last pretty much forever. They are not easily broken or bent (if you don't abuse them) and they are not susceptible to sun damage. They don't get brittle and no hinge point to break apart. They support even the heaviest of sewer hoses well if you extend them enough that their center of gravity is low. Much easier and quick to get sewer hose on and hooked up. The way they are designed you can lay a brick or rock on the crossbars that contact the ground so strong wind will not tip them over (use small bungies to keep the wind from blowing the hose itself off of the support). CON: Limited length. You can get only about 7-8 ft per section if you extend them all the way, therefore you have to carry multiple sections which means more expense than one plastic support. I carry three. It's a trade off. Carry one plastic support that takes up a little less room in your cargo bay but are harder to set up, will break apart usually sooner rather than later, and are easily tipped over, OR, .carry several sections of these aluminum supports that will never go bad if you don't abuse them. Like I said, there is no perfect solution, but all in all I've been pleased with the construction, durability and ease of use of these aluminum supports. ... show more

  • Shorter than I thought
Just based on the picture, I thought this would be longer. I will need to get a 2nd one to reach the back of my camper. The build quality and materials are good. It is light weight and easy the clean off. Adds a nice stable platform for my stinky slinky. Also came with some hold down bands to secure it in place. I will get another one to replace those cheaper plastic ones you normally buy. This one closes up the same size and much better quality. ... show more

  • Easy To Use
This is very well made and no doubt will last a long time. It folds up neatly and easy to store. It is only about 6 feet long but supports a 10 foot hose easily. I like how it expands and remains rigid while positioning it and setting the hose on top. Costs a little more than the plastic ones, but well worth the money difference. ... show more

  • ... does what it is supposed to and looks much better with my Airstream than the plastic ones
It does what it is supposed to and looks much better with my Airstream than the plastic ones. It folds up compactly, and extends easily. It won't work if you need a long hose, but is great for me as my tanks empty at the rear. One major flaw, the plastic fasteners that hold the hose in place are really difficult to attach so they will stay in place and two broke after the second use, so plan to use a small bungee to hold the hose in place. ... show more

  • Maybe, it was a lemon
I used it a few times on a trip across country. We went from Arizona to Maine and back. Third night I saw the rivets or fasteners were coming out. Then it was pretty useless.

  • A item that some RV parks required.
Not as durable as I would like it for the money I spent. Make sure you keep the rivets oiled when extending in and out. My broke shortly after purchased.

  • Need to make your own straps!
This would be a lot better product if the straps were longer. Basically they provided 7 in straps on a support that is 6 inches wide. Since the straps don't stretch it can retain a garden hose, not a 4 inch sewer hose. I can make straps that fit, but shouldn't need to if they had sent the same straps as shown in their video. ... show more

  • Should outlast the flimsy plastic units.
Seems sturdy enough. This unit should stay together much longer than the flimsy plastic units I have had in the past. It deploys in a straight line only. It will not serpentine. Rubber straps and clips used to secure hose are awkward and I can see how they could become "lost" in a hurry. I will replace them with some standard mini bungee cords. ... show more
