I’m inexperienced when it comes to working on the house but I was determined to make my crafting area / spare bedroom look nicer. The directions were easy to follow and there are about 3 different ways you can place the hardware to make it work. There is a long slot for the bolt that holds it up to fit in so your measurements don’t have to be exact and that made it so much easier! The first one took me 20 minutes but the second one went up in 5 minutes and all I needed was an electric screwdriver. The curtains themselves look very well made and the mechanism that allows it to move up and down is smooth and easy to do one handed. As you see in the picture you can just push it up as high as you want and leave it. I think they look handsome and they hide the clutter well. I suppose most people will use these on windows- I’ll probably buy more for the dining room. I think it’s a good value- I was worried because these were less expensive than a lot of the others, but they are not lacking anything in looks or performance. I recommend them ... show more

These bamboo blinds visually pulled together the Asian artifacts and teak wood in my living room. I ordered Ceylon Light Russet. They allow light into the room, yet give some privacy. They were easy to install and seem sturdy. I like that they can be raised and lowered without having hanging cords.

I purchased two of the Light Russet blinds for one room and two of the Vintage White for another room. My Andersen windows measured 35-inches inside width, so the 34.5-inch blinds fit the inside dimension perfectly. For this style blind, I prefer mounting inside the window frame, not hanging over the top of it. These would have been easy to install if I could have used the mounting slots provided on the blinds with the included brackets without modification. However, each of the Andersen windows had a sticker warning not to drill or screw anything up to 7-inches from each side because it would interfere with the window lifting mechanism. The standard inside mounting of the blinds would have the brackets screwed into the window frame up to about 3-inches from the side and interfered with the Anderson mechanism. Therefore, I mounted the original brackets 9-inches from each side, necessitating drilling holes into the top blind frame, and not using the slots on each side. To keep the mounting bolt and wing nut from interfering with the blind's lift mechanism, I had to shorten the bracket bolt by cutting off about 1/4-inch, and replacing the wing nut with a flat nut. It was a little extra work, but I had the tools and nuts needed and took care not to interfere with the blind's inside pully. The four window shades are now nicely mounted inside the window frames. The light russet and vintage white colors both look great. These are my first "cordless" blinds. They raise and lower by lifting up on the bottom of the shade without the need for a cord hanging from a pully. Very smooth and easy. ... show more

This was the exact natural color I had been scouring for. The directions were easy to follow, the shade is easy to use, and aside from a slight, barely there, break in one bamboo row, it’s perfect quality. It blocks out just enough light, and looks great!

I bought 4 sets of these. They look great and I can tell they're a good quality. However, there were no instructions included in ANY of the boxes and there are too many pieces included for me to figure out how to mount them.
