This Callaway Strata Ultimate golf set is amazing! As a beginner getting serious about the game, I couldn’t be happier with the quality and variety in this 16-piece set. I had my eye on this and a few other sets of golf clubs for a month or so in watch list. When I saw the price drop on the day after Thanksgiving sale I had to buy it. Just finished up my first year of golfing. I first bought a used set to see if I would really like golfing. I made up my mind after finishing the season and liking golf to continue playing. So price got me to step up my plan. Have managed to play 3 rounds so far with these clubs I feel I can review them honestly now. They are lightweight and the grips feel good. I have been able to drive the ball much further. Being Left handed makes it harder to find a nice set. I was little concerned when people wrote the had issues with dents and other such things. I can report no issues so far. Everything looks like new. Bag is quality made and has plenty of pockets for all kinds of storage. I would highly rate these clubs for beginners and experienced users alike. So easy to use. If issues do pop up I will comeback and update my review. ... show more

To all the people complaining that this set isn't made by Callaway, do some research! A quick google search on these clubs will tell you they aren't made by Callaway, they are just distributed by Callaway. To those complaining about durability; for some of you, I'd suggest only hitting golf balls with the clubs... Or maybe don't try your best Happy Gilmore impression. It's pretty obvious from some photos that it wasn't a golf ball or average golf swing that caused that much damage. Consider what you're paying and what you're getting here. This is a BEGINNER'S SET! A driver alone is $400 and up from one of the "big 5" manufacturers, and that's not including a bag, set of irons, woods, and putter. Highly doubt many beginners are ready to drop $3k on a full set of PING clubs. Like with any product, you're going to have some bad and some good. All things considered this is a great set for the price. Driver: Good - Isn't going to last forever. If you're pushing pro swing speeds, you'll probably just destroy this driver after a few rounds or less. Otherwise, forgiving, well balanced, durable enough for the average player. 3 wood/5h: Good - 5h does everything you need it to. 3 wood may have similar problems as driver. Irons: Amazing! - Very sturdy, forgiving, great ball flight. Putter: Good - Basic blade with ball alignment. Yes, the bottom gets scuffed. Sorry to burst your bubble, but clubs are going to show signs of wear when used... Bag/club covers: Great - lightweight, plenty of storage. Better than anyone is willing to give credit for. Covers aren't anything special, but good enough and aesthetically pleasing. ... show more

While I’d recommend going to a local used sports gear store or even donation site for clubs for kids or people who only play once in a blue moon, these are great for those who want the key clubs for getting on the fairway and out of trouble. It’s easier to carry fewer clubs and helps you really hone in your swing. The only complaint I have is the bag really needs the topper attached to keep things from falling out with its over the shoulder, horizontal orientation. But otherwise all the clubs and grips felt good on the first few trips, the covers are nice, and the bag is lightweight, if a little bulky. Has all of the essential clubs that you will need to start playing golf. It was a little confusing to me how it is labeled as a 9 piece set but there are only 6 clubs. They are the Driver, 5H, 7I, 9I, SW, and PT which is the perfect set for beginners. Having this few clubs will not overwhelm beginners with too many choices on which club to select. With that being said I wish that I had bought a complete set of 12 clubs to start. Though the main thing that kept me from doing that was I wasn't sure if I would enjoy playing golf or not and I assumed that I could just buy the other clubs that I was missing easily. Well you can buy extra clubs just not Strata brand and they come in sets cheaper than individually. So I have like 3 duplicate clubs now. The bag is very nice. I love the pocket position and size. The rain cover is nice too and easy to remove when not needed. The built in tripod stand is also handy when at the driving range. The only thing that I don't like about the bag is the goofy backpack strap. It's so awkward walking up to the clubhouse taking up 3 times the amount of space that you normally would. And the bag is designed in such a way that you can not put a standard shoulder strap on in place of the backpack strap. ... show more

Driver head broke off on the 12th hole. Only used the driver for the 8-9 holes and it broke. Very disappointed with the durability. The irons have performed well. **Edit** Callaway offers a 2 year warranty on the clubs. After speaking with their customer service, they sent me a new, upgraded driver for free. I just had to send the broken club back. Upgraded to 5 stars since the rest of the clubs have been great, and Callaway's customer service was awesome. ... show more
