  • Poorly constructed pedal didn't work properly + sold as new but appeared used
This review is for the Caline pedal "So What" Flanger sold to be by Orc Tribe. Not only was this obviously used item sold to me as new by seller "Orc Tribe" (shame on you), but they likely also noticed the awful build quality of the item in the first place before passing it off to me as new. There were nicks & scratches on this pedal right out of the package (which was wrapped in foam, not sealed plastic). Most egregious was the circular scratch around the output port that tells me I wasn't the 1st owner. The bottom plate is clearly warped. How does this pass quality control by Caline or the seller? The cherry on top is that the poorly constructed pedal has a defect when use is attempted. No matter with a fresh 9 volt battery used with provided adapter or 9 volt plug-in power supply, the pedal distorts signal which is clearly noticeable when playing clean (no other effects or distortion). I even tested it by itself with no other pedals connected & with different patch cables to rule out any other culprit other than this pedal. So this was my 3rd pedal by Caline. I love the "Ghost Rain" Delay. I fully recommend it. However, I did not like & sent back the "Gale Force Dyna" Compressor/Sustainer. The "attack" feature was bizarrely unusable at any dialed in level. I wonder if that device was also defective- It couldn't be it's what Caline intended. There wasn't anything visually wrong with the case unlike this Flanger. I'll never know for sure. So with this "So What" Flanger being another disappointment, I doubt I'll try out any more of Caline's products. But again- the Ghost Rain Delay is a winner *if* you can get one that's made well. ... show more

  • Too much background noise.
The media could not be loaded. I took a chance on buying this pedal and I must say it turned out to be a great disappointment. I want to believe that maybe I just got a bad one but this one is pretty much useless. It even isn't any good for noodling it makes so much noise. Yeah its a cheapie, but this is just too much for even a low budget gadget. No you couldn't use it in a studio recording session but you should be able to at least use it live or just in your music room at home. listen to the video that I recorded on my phone and you will know what I mean. If it wasn't for the snap crackle and pop in the signal this could be an awesome flanger. this sucks!! This is the last time that I will purchase any item that is "fulfilled by amazon" because every time that I do I get screwed. ... show more

  • Great sound with a Bass - this is another winner from Caline
I have borrowed a friend's old Ibanez Flanger pedal and have had it a few years now. It is a great quality pedal that is probably at least 25 years old. This Caline pedal is it's equal in every way and I expect it to be running well in 25-odd years as well. I am using this with a bass and I find that it adds a nice subtle tone to thicken the sound. I prefer it to a Chorus pedal actually. When cranked up to get the full effect it does exactly what I expect a good flangee to do. This must be incredible when used with a 6-string guitar. ... show more

  • A GREAT FLANGER FOR A GREAT PRICE
This pedal sounds just as deep, just as rich and overall just as good as the much more expensive Catalinbread Zero Point Studio Flanger. The Zero Point has lots of hype and very simple controls. This Caline Flanger has a lot of controls and a deep rich flanger effect, what's not to like? The price is sure right. It's in a metal enclosure. It has an external power input jack. It sounds good. Easy money in my book. Good music to you! ... show more

  • Great Classic Flanger Sounds
I was looking for a replacement for my broken 80’s EHX Electric Mistress. I’d bought an EHX nano version version but wanted some additional control. The Caline CP-66 did just that! It comes very close to the unique undulations of the EHX box and has enough controls to satisfy me. It’s a strongly made box too. I would gig with it without a backup. ... show more
