My Yamaha stereo receiver went kaput and I wanted something small and simple to power my speakers and connect my CD player to and this fit the bill. My speakers are two passive m-audio AV40's. They are 20 Watt speakers and this powers them easily. I barely have to move the volume knob. I haven't heard any distortion at higher volumes or while playing with the bass and treble. It feels well made, thought its light. Its longevity remains to be seen. I will be using it daily and with these random products you just never know if you have the one that will last a decade or just a month. IT DOES NOT COME WITH A POWER SUPPLY! I dont say that negatively. I assume it keeps the price low and the adapter needed it fairly common if you've been collecting gadgets for a while, a 9V 2+ amp power adapter with a 5.5 * 2.1mm barrel. If you find yourself looking for a power adapter as well, it might be more worthwhile to spend a bit more. If not, i recommend this for those of us on a budget. ... show more

So first off, yes you do need to bring your own power supply. I have a box of wall warts, so this wasn't a problem with me. I'm using it to power some old Realistic (RadioShack) bookshelf speakers from the 80s, and it does that job well. It gets loud enough for my purposes, and it sounds pretty good too. Especially considering it was like $12. The only complaint I have about it so far is that if I keep my phone too close to it, it occasionally makes noise audible through the speakers. People complain about this not including a power supply, but I have so many 12V wall warts in drawers, I really didn't need another one. Great build quality, drives my Sony CSS5s just fine, sounds great. Couldn't be happier with this gem.

I like what it is. Compact and decently put together. HOWEVER> No power supply was included. Luckily I had the one needed from an old External HDD Enclosure. I didn't even think to look if it had a power adaptor included and as it does say in the destription (NOT INCLUDED), who does that? It's not the most common supply, I was lucky I had it, or I would still be waiting for a replacement. Only other thing of note, is I wish I could turn off the L.E.D. I know other models have that ability, or to change color, that would be nice too, but I bought the cheapest. ... show more
