My intention is to use this calculator on our farm stand to calculate customer bills. This will work great for that. It functions like a desktop calculator, rather than a typical handheld one, a definite plus. There is no "off" button, and like most calculators of that type, it shuts itself off after a not being used a while. I wondered how long that would be, so I attempted to consult the manual. That's when I found that the manual was all in Chinese, making it useless for me. Running a calculator isn't exactly rocket surgery, so I was able to work out the functions I need, but still, if you are going to retail an item with a manual in a country, USA or whichever, the manual you provide should be in the prevailing language of that country. One star off for that. I found the buttons to be roughly the same size as a typical desktop calculator, with a comparable layout. (The photo compares it to a desktop calculator I have been using on the stand.) The force needed is about the same as for the keyboard of my desktop computer, so I found them comfortable to use. Accuracy is more important than speed in my application, so it's good that my fingers can't exactly fly over the keys. (Going fast is when you make mistakes. Too many of those can be fatal for the business.) I was surprised that the included backup AAA battery isn't an alkaline. That means that even if it doesn't get used much when it's too dark for the solar power, the backup battery won't last very long. Fortunately, even if the battery is out of the device, the solar cell will run it. The display is easy to read, especially compared to the LED display of a typical printing desktop calculator these days. There was a time when you could find a printing calculator with an LCD display that could work on either batteries or electric, but it seems those days are long gone. It's fantastic that I have a calculator on my phone. But, using a phone is awkward when I am doing multiple calculations. I find the need for the old-style tabletop calculator. I am very pleased with this one from deli. The screen is large, making the numbers easy to see and it is angled for easy viewing. The power is handled by an AAA battery/ Solar combo. The battery is provided. One cool thing is that the design of the numerical buttons is organized just like the keypad on a computer. Usually, a calculator has the numbers reversed. This is a small but important feature. It helps those who are used to our keyboard number pad and it's layout. Calculator is easy to use, the keys have a good feel for use by my 90+ mom, who like the tactile feel of the keys, as it is similar to her old calculator which has died after many years of use. The numbers on the screen are easy for her to see. She is adapt at using a calculator, but if this was for a first time user, the instructions are worthless to English readers, as they are in Chinese only, not even an attempt at English explanation that most item usually have, no matter how bad the translation is. It will serve it purpose and worked immediately after placing the provided battery in the unit. We will not be doing high level math on it, so it will be sufficient. Took of the one star only because if it is being sold in English speaking countries, the company aught to at least try to have some form of instruction, whether pictures of written. ... show more

    • Great basic desktop calculator
I used to work in the AR department and had a huge desk calculator that I loved. Once I left I was always on the lookout for a nice calculator that was similar to my desk calculator but not quite as big and that I could easily put in the desk of my home office. When I saw this calculator it looked like it would be exactly what I wanted. This calculator is exactly what I wanted. It has a big LCD display and big buttons that I can easily hit without looking. The anti slip feet on the bottom keep it in place. While it works as a calculator the manual is not in English and I had a little trouble figuring out what the switches up on the top portion were for. There’s nothing overly exciting as this is just a typical desk calculator. However, if you’re like me and you need a calculator but find it annoying to open the calculator on your phone or PC, then you’ll understand the convenience of having a calculator sitting on your desk that you can just hit the ON button and start typing away! The keys are large enough that I can rest my fingers on the keys and enter numbers without having to look down which is also very convenient. The calculator itself is really light and the underside only has 2 rubber pads. My desk has a poly coat on top and despite the calculator being light, it doesn’t slide around easily as I’m typing. It comes with a AAA battery in case there’s not enough sunlight to power the solar panel. Overall, it meets all of my expectations. ... show more

A little bigger than one might like, even for an "old folks'" calculator. Buttons are tall and clunky, requiring too much pressure if you're trying to work with speed. It has some features I'd like to explore--they may be great--but I wouldn't know because the directions are entirely in Chinese. I don't think it's too much to ask when you're an American buying a product in America that you at least get the option to read a manual in English. ... show more

    • Just An Ordinary Desk Calculator
Can't think of anything necessarily exciting about this calculator, nor can I find anything necessarily wrong with it. Keys feel a bit clunky but imagine that feeling will diminish after using for a while as I have been using a calculator that I've had for years and overtime it was broken in quiet well. Also spacing of keys seem to be closer than what I'm used to, but again am sure that will not be an issue as I get used to this machine. Fortunately, all desk calculators work basically the same, so the instructions which are in Chinese, immediately went into the trash. Overall, not a bad little desk calculator. ... show more
