These adapters are very solid - a thick metal shell, well-made connectors, and no issues meeting the advertised 10gbps. We have lots of Cable Matters cables at work and they've always been reliable, so I expect the same from these adapters in the long term. You can certainly find cheaper adapters, but if you want excellent quality without going too crazy on price, these hit a nice sweet spot. ... show more

These work as expected and I needed a USB-C to USB-A adapter, when travelling and staying at a hotel that doesn't have USB ports for charging a USB-C device and you only have USB-C to USB-C cable with you. They seem well made and will do the job.

My computer and wall outlets have older USB-A ports. Rather than buy new cables, I bought this 2-pack of adapters and it has worked very well. Data transfer speeds seem well and they appear to be built well. These are a little bit longer (length-wise) then some other adaptors I have seen/used, but if space is not an issue for where you're plugging these into, these will be fine. I once picked up a set of adapters that I thought would work well, but they only supported USB 2.0 speeds. My USB-C flash drive hits around 106 MB/s on its own, and it performs the same with these adapters. I'm really pleased with them. You get a pair of USB-A to Type-C adapters, and they come with lanyards. They can be a bit clunky when you plug in a full-size flash drive since they stick out nearly 4 inches from the USB port. Plus, the weight of the flash drive causes some drooping. I'm planning to find a short USB 3.0 extension cable to fix that.     • Thumbs up! Just what I needed to use my usb-c phone cables with my usb-a monitors.
I don't have a high speed usb-c to usb-c cable handy so I can't verify the data speed claims, however I can tell you that this adapter can be used to charge your phone. I was using it with a usb-c cable plugged into my monitor that only has usb-a ports. ONE THING I NOTICED was that if I plug a usb-c to usb-c cable into my phone (galaxy fold 4) and then plug the usb-a to usb-c adapter into one end, the phone will start freaking out saying it detected moisture in the USB-C port when there isn't any. So, if you are going to use this adapter, connect it to your power source first and then plug the cable into your phone last. So that's fun. It does work though! ... show more

    • Nice to have around for when I need to quickly convert C to A!
These are exceptionally built for an adapter that is needed for fewer cases than ever thanks to the proliferation of USB-C ports. However, sometimes I have a USB-A port available but I need to plug in a ISB-C cable. That’s where this comes in handy, allowing me to get the max speeds from the USB-A port without having to fumble around for another C-to-A cable. There’s no issue with these for ordinary use-cases. Of course, if you’re plugging an adopter into an adapter, as some others might do, then you might notice lower speeds, but that’s not advisable and happens really anytime you try to stack adapters. Otherwise, most folks aren’t going to notice any reductions in speeds here, as this gets up to 10Gbps. Hope this helps! ... show more
