These work great. It's like having an extra person on the job.

  • Worth the Investment
Style: Cable Comb Kit - CAT5/6/7
Bought this item to do a large commercial cable run to make it look professional and it didn’t disappoint. Ease of use definitely a great value for your money. Worth the extra time and expense to make the cable look nice and neat.

  • Working by yourself or have multiple corners on long pulls? This is Awesome!
Style: Cable Pulley, 2 Pack
I have found these pulleys to be invaluable for pulling in CAT6 cable or any wiring for that matter. I typically work alone and with proper placement, it is a breeze to pull multiple cables from the head end to distant terminals. Pulling around corners are no longer an issue for me, I just creatively place a pulley with a short chain or rope at the needed angle and keep going! I get a lot of comments from others on the job and I can see the wheels turning as they watch me do what normally take 2-3 guys to do with my little pulleys! The pulleys never snag or catch and are easily removed from the wires when the pull is finished. They store easily in a bag that I keep on the truck for these occasions. Giant labor saver, well work the money spent! ... show more

  • Why didn’t I know about this sooner!?
Style: Cable Funnel
Makes pulling network cable a breeze, and you don’t have to worry about stripping or cutting into the cable jacket as this protects the cable. Does the job and does it well

  • Good design
Style: Cable Pulley, 2 Pack
To not have to pull a 15-20’ loop at a corner or 2 is great. I had a set that were all plastic that didn’t last long, these pulleys on the other hand are more robust and durable.

  • Great product, but read before you buy
Edited 2-1-2014 I've never come back to edit a review here, but Steve at Acomm tools has been trying to reach/email/call me/stalk me for months to find out why I returned it. That a small company cares that much about their customers' satisfaction months *after* I returned the product is impressive. I've added 2 stars and changed some opinions after finally speaking with him. I really wanted this to work for me. I mean, i spent $40 of my own money for this piece of plastic. >> edit: okay, it didn't work for me, but now I can understand the cost. There's some serious cash involved in having custom molds made for your product. This is a niche market, so they just aren't selling enough units to bring cost down. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't, but I can't fault a guy for recovering his costs and trying to make a buck. First, its smaller than you think it is. I mean, about 20% smaller than it should be (about 4.5" diamter). >> edit: obviously it's meant for CAT5. That's still where most of the market is, I totally get it. And it works f*ing fantastic for CAT5. And it fits in your tool bag. Second, the holes are berely big enough for Cat6 STTP. But total fail trying to use with RG6 Quad Shield cable. All things considered, this device could be larger, with larger diameter holes. That would make everything better. >> edit: I had a long conversation with Steve about this. He agrees that they should make a larger comb for larger cables, but there might not be a market out there to bear the costs of new molds. I mean, who is psychotic enough to pull shielded CAT6 in their house (other than me?). I would really love to have a slightly larger version of this for larger cables. We'll see. If you only ever have to comb Cat5, this will be great for you. >> edit: to be fair, it didn't work with the CAT6 STTP and RG6 Quad that I was using. Other manufacturers may have smaller wire diameters that will work with this. Revised final conclusion: 1. Acomm Tools is a small company that grew out of their own cable pulling business. They saw a need in the market and spent their own hard earned cash making something that would make our lives easier. 2. It ain't cheap to have this stuff manufactured. It costs what is costs. If you pull cable and terminate networks for a living, you must have at least one of these in your tool bag. It WILL pay for itself on the first job. 3. I returned this because I'm an amature techie and it didn't work for me on the one installation that I had to do: my house. If I did this for a living, I would have said to myself "Hm. Not so much with the shielded CAT6" and kept it for other installations. 4. It is a really we'll built piece of plastic. If you install cables for a living, you'll appreciate the build quality. Think of how much you'd spend on the right punch tool, network tester or drill motor. Yeah, think of this as a tool, not just a piece of plastic. 5. It's smaller than you think, so it will fit in your tool bag of course! 6. Support the small company that cares about its product and its customers. Sure I suppose I could download a file and 3D print one of these, but it won't be strong enough to actually comb out (48) CAT5 cables. ... show more

  • This one is life-changing
Style: Cable Pulley, 2 Pack
I will NEVER pull cable again without these pulleys!! Normally I'm pulling cable by myself, so anytime I hit a bend or a turn, I have to stop and pull a bunch of slack. Not anymore!! I've pulled CAT6 ~200ft through 4 bends like it was nothing! In the attached pictures, I'm pulling fiber through 6 floors of IT closet including a zig-zag where one of the floor penetrations didn't line up with the rest, and it was laughably easy! Yes, those are fiber jumper cables, not meant for pulling, so you can't really put any tension on them when pulling, and with these pulleys I didn't have to. I started out with just 2 pulleys and one of the drop-ceiling sleeves and they worked so well that I went and bought 2 more pairs of pulleys. I would definitely recommend grabbing some paracord & a pile of carabiners to go with these. They'll be a huge help in getting the pulleys placed where you need them. ... show more
