Got this to run cable for outdoor on a roof. I played with the cable for a little while to ensure I could terminate while on a roof that's 1,000,000 degrees... So, the cable jacket is extremely tough, no problems there, it will last above and below ground for a long time. The cable also has a rubber jacket underneath the thick outer jacket. It also has a plastic divider cross separation to keep the pairs separated. Nice touch, but also makes it MUCH harder to terminate as you have to cut down below the jacket to remove it so you can get all the wires lined up properly. However, the RJ-45s are shielded, but the cable itself is NOT, so don't think of this as STP, it's UTP. It does not advertise as STP, but the RJ-45 connectors look it, don't assume. The tools are adequate, but nothing great, so don't buy the cable for the tools. Also, having a second person unspooling the cable would be a major help as it will kink quickly. However, because of the thick jacket, it will not bend, so you won't ruin the cable, but you will cuss and cuss getting it un-kinked. So, bring a person along that will turn the box as needed when pulling the cable out of the box. So, aside from those things, it's a decent cable that will last. Just be patient. ... show more
