This soil has a nice loose, fine, and even texture. The color is nice and made a nice top dressing for the pots. It arrived quickly, which is what I needed in this case. I am willing to wait a week for the delivery of a larger amount of a different brand of potting soil.

Here's what I use when I finally transplant my tomato seedlings into big pots: a mix of bone meal, compost, fertilizer, and a touch of bone meal( this is more root and flowering for later). I used other brands in the past. But this time I got Burpee because my regular one was not available. I think this helps my plants develop sturdy stems and healthy leaves, giving them a strong foundation for growth really well. Since I live in a region with scorching temperatures (over 100°F from mid-May to late summer), I try to get my tomatoes into their final pots by early to mid-March. I buy Burpee stuff as often as I can because it’s a good trusted company that makes quality products. It’s not like I’m getting any of it for free but it’s just good stuff. Always quality. Always easy to use and easy to germinate if it’s a seed product or easy to grow if it’s a plant, good soil amendments for your garden. I never have issues from this company, but I do have a hard time finding their products because people who buy them love them as much as I do apparently, and that shows it’s good stuff. ... show more
