It does what it needs to, wasn't as easy or straight forward for me to install, needed additional effort :) However once in place, it is good and I can use any kind of shoe I like with our specific adapters with the bike. One thing though obviously adapters are protecting from unintended accidents such as your foot slipping off the pedal and hitting your leg with some power, therefore wouldn't recommend if you have such concerns or younger kids are using the exercise bike.
