After ordering, I realized that I had purchased the "non-writable" version, which has a waxy/glossy coating and is a lighter color than the previous tapes I've purchased. It appears from the product listing that the "writable" version is the more typical brown packing tape I've used in the past.

Sticks really well to boxes, but it has trouble sticking to itself due to the waxy finish on the top. Can be a bit troublesome if trying to place a piece on top of another piece-- just make sure that at least the ends of each piece are sticking to the box so they don't peel up and off.

Used this to re-frame a painting and seal the back against dust intrusion. It's perfect for this use. I'm not at all sure I would use it for packaging things for shipping though. The wide plastic packaging tape seems a better choice for that.

I am using this tape to keep used Amazon shopping boxes closed. The tape is pretty sticky, better than I hoped. I used used the tape to replaced the back of drywall sheets damaged by the builder’s workmen.
