Before someone told us about 'Thermal Printers' we were printing on old 8.5x11 paper and taping the labels to the packages. When someone told us about 'Rollo'... I know i wanted one... no ink?? ever?? wow, what a great idea. Later found out that these have been around for a while now and thinking about it, my Ptouch brother machine has to be thermal because i never change the ink on it, just the paper reel... but I didn't know of an affordable kind for anyone... well, Rollo was going to be ours... until... we found out there's no WiFi or Blutooth!!! what?? 2020 and the Rollo design is set to 2010 when Iphones were still sort of new?? So, i looked around and found this one. A bit pricey, but it has Wifi and BluTooth. So easy. My wife sells alot on Poshmark and does her whole business on her iphone. going to a printer or having a laptop around to use the Rollo wasn't feasible, so with this Brother machine.... hooked up to a switched outlet... We turn on the outlet within seconds the brother printer joins the network and she can print labels from her phone to the printer. The labels come out very quickly and stick very well to any type of package. Our only complaint is the cost of the labels, therefore we found an alternative even though the quality of the labels is inferior... but who cares!! it's going to be discarded later on... But the printer is great. Highly recommended. 3rd party labels do work, so don't get discouraged by the cost of the labels there are alternatives out there. if for some reason your 3rd party labels don't work, just take apart the stock roll cartridge and re use it with the no name labels. I have had the Dymo 4XL. It wasted paper and then stopped working after just a year. Then I purchased the Rollo, and while they had great customer service, the printer is of low quality, and the print is nearly unreadable even after trouble shooting. I thought after the Rollo, I was going to have to buy a Zebra ZD420, but then I noticed Brother had a newer model out. I looked at the specs, and it had THE BEST specs for the money. No one else but Zebra and other high end manufacturing label makers. The same specs from Zebra costs $780! The Brother has EVERYTHING! It even cuts the labels. My one issue is that you have to buy their labels, but honestly that doesn't matter to me now. My Dymo wasted 15 or so labels a week! Misprints GALORE! I have printed 6 labels now with the Brother and it has not wasted a SINGLE piece of paper. I would rather pay for labels that aren't wasted than labels that are. I had the ROLLO installed for 5 hours. It wasted 40 LABELS! 40! If this continues to function as it does today. It's hands down the best label printer out there. The labels are always properly centered. The text is clean and clear with no streaking. The labels are of good quality and very sticky. This is the new 4x6 label printer to beat! Dymo dropped the ball, and brother came to market with the best printer around. Yes its a few more dollars than the Dymo 4XL, but you get what you pay for. Wifi, Networking, USB, 300 PPI, Cutter! I researched for a year before actually buying this, WHY because I am CHEAP! I read many wireless printer reviews and finally after a year I bought this. BEST INVESTMENT EVER. My Epson printer used so much ink cartridge, and it was one of those that I had to replace all 4 cartridge or it will not print what a waste of my money. Anyhow back to this printer, I did not read the user manual I normally don't b/c I hate reading instructions but I was able to set it up and print successfully in less than 20 minutes. I used my IPAD and it did everything flawlessly. I clicked to connect it to the printer blue tooth and boom, it printed perfectly. I am saving so much money using their printer paper that does not require any ink. Yeah the brothers paper cost more than the cheaper stuff but I believe in getting what you pay for quality. I am saving so much money from buying ink and also a lot of time. It's 100% wireless and easy to connect with my IPAD I will never go back to another printer. I sell on Ebay and Etsy and all my labels come out exactly right. I did not have to edit any size or anything. Just click print and boom there it is. I had to write this review b/c this printer is freakin amazing!!!! Don't think, just buy it. ... show more
