I was looking for a big bright light in a Gold Finish for my kitchen to replace an outdated light. I absolutely love the modern look this light brought to the kitchen. My father installed it for me, so I can't speak to the easiness of that though it only took him a couple of minutes. The only complaint I have is it was hard to adjust the lights to go in the direction I wanted, without them spinning into other directions like a compass. Are use this in the kitchen to replace my fluorescent lights because I did not want canned lights and it looks fantastic. My electrician said the wiring was easy and I used dimmable lightbulbs and a new dimmer switch, very happy.

This Sputnik fixture replaced an ugly fluorescent light that was installed with just a hole in the ceiling off centered, which I’ll patch up later. I had to make a new hole to insert an old construction electrical box and replace the light switch with a dimmer switch. Love the look, lets off a ton of light (I used 60 watt, 4000K Edison bulbs) on a dimmer switch. I could have used 40 watt bulbs. Best of all, it installed so easily - took 20 minutes and 1 person. Another light (different brand, similar look) took 3 hours, 2 people and a trip to the hardware store for longer screws to install. This one was a breeze! Screws install from the sides (not dangling down from ceiling) and ground wire attaches in a way that allows you to 'dangle' the fixture during installation. Highly recommend! ... show more
