Really liked 1st pair so bought another. First one finally wore out bottom. The tops stayed great looking even when I threw them out. Really happy!

  • Sadly, Not at all the Quality of the Original BKs.
Size: 8 Color: White/Black/El
Very attractive shoes. I love BKs. Being too young to have ever owned a pair during their initial popularity boom, I remember my older brothers begged and begged my mom and dad for them when those MC Hammer commercials were on TV. British Knights have had a couple comebacks since they became a KMart brand in the mid to late 90s. Their first wave comeback was about 2008-2013 and then again in 2015 until now. I bought pairs during both campaigns and I own an original pair that sits on a shelf in my apartment. I don't consider myself a "sneaker guy", BKs are just something I like, and they happen to be affordable enough (cheaper than they were back in 1990!) to buy every so often. The original shoes were very good quality. Their first wave comeback shoes were also very good. However, since then, the quality has dropped fairly dramatically. Every one of the six pairs of the new leat wave that I have bought have almost completely fallen apart, and quickly. I have owned three of the Dymacel types, and every one has had the sole completely fall off after a couple months of walking around town. However, they did do a collab model Dymacel that is brown on brown and those are noticably better in quality and haven't started to fall apart at all. Those ones were also $300 when they were released (bought mine for $40 on eBay). These Kings model ones are pretty bad. Being that I own an original pair of the Kings, I can directly compare the quality in 1990 to the quality of this model. It's a no-contest. These new ones have no stitching to keep the midsole to the actual shoe. There's an indentation where the manufacturing company WOULD put stiching and did in the early 90s, but no stitching exists. That's an incredibly cheap thing to do. That's a sin that I can't really forgive like I could my other pairs that at least seemed like they were trying to be quality. No stitching to hold the shoe together, just glue. This works for running shoes, but not for shoes that have a midsole two inches thick. It's a major disappointment, really. They're great looking, but a far cry from the original quality that once rivaled the top names in the industry. These will not last 1/5 the amount of time that say, a pair of Reebok high tops or Nikes will. It is clear that they have little regard for making something that lasts, and that's disappointing. These will likely be my last. I'll have to switch to the old school Filas or something. This is simply unacceptable when the MSRP is nearly the same as a new Nike sneaker that will last five times longer if not more. ... show more
