The marathon click tight convertible car seat has the patented click tight installation system, a layer of side impact protection, and safe cell impact protection for peace of mind while you are on the go with your child. Car seat installation is easy as buckling a seat belt thanks to the click tight installation system. In the marathon car seat, you are surrounded in safety. This convertible car seat features the patented Britax safe cell impact protection system, which includes a steel frame, energy- absorbing base, v shaped tether to minimize seat rotation and staged release stitches that slow and reduce forward movement in the event of a crash. Britax designed the marathon click tight car seat with a strong layer of side energy absorption; a deep foam lined shell will shield your child from side impacts. Plush foam padding and fabric, along with 7 recline positions ensures premium comfort for your child. The 14 position easy adjust harness grows along with your child and you can change the height of the seat with just the push of a button no re-threading necessary. I was recently in a car accident with my child in the car in this seat. She was 100% OK, and I am so thankful!!! I ordered the exact same model to replace the first one (I wasn't comfortable continuing to use a seat that had been in an accident). My child is 2.5 years old, weighs about 35 lbs., and sits rear-facing. Outside of this accident, we really like this car seat. It's easy to install CORRECTLY, and easy to get her in and out. It was a pain to clean after she vomited in it once, but I hand washed the cover, then ran it through a spin cycle in my washer, and that helped it air dry quicker. After that incident, I purchased the liner pad in the hopes of containing future incidents and keeping yucky stuff out of the tiny crevices of the seat. Lucky for us we haven't tested that theory yet. We have put this seat in a variety of vehicles, including a Mazda 6, Audi A4, Audi Q3, Kia Sorento, VW Passat, Dodge Journey, Honda Odyssey, and more. It has worked great in all of them, but in smaller cars the front passenger seat has to be moved up a lot to accommodate this seat while rear-facing. One hint for getting it out of a car is to unbuckle the seat belt to make the ClickTight seat easier to release. If you found my review helpful, please give me a vote! ... show more

It’s been 3 years since I bought my Britex Marathon click-tight for my granddaughter. I read articles about it being great for grandparents and it was true! It is SO easy to install, making it very easy to take out and put back into your car. The click-tight feature quickly makes the car seat very stable. I rated leg room a 4, because before I turned the seat facing forward, those long legs were folded up at the back of the seat. But that’s also the new regulations requiring toddlers to face backward for a longer period of time. It’s a tad bit heavy for this grandma, but I can handle it and I know the weight makes it safer. I cannot say enough about the quality, convenience and ease of using this car seat. You won’t be disappointed! ... show more

    • I was resistant--now I'm in love

I tried REALLY hard not to buy a ClickTight, but after I was in a car accident with my 3 year old, the old Britax had to go...and since it performed so well in the accident of course I HAD to go with Britax again (I mean--they're just unbeatable). I was SUPER concerned about installation--I had read the horror stories on here about how people just couldn't get them in right, how they never got tight enough (and I tighten a car seat to within an inch of its life), and how they couldn't be moved after installed. I'm here to tell you...all have been incorrect in my experience. As far as installation goes, it couldn't be easier. It is legit just like in the video. My tip is to pull the slack you have in your seat belt out almost entirely--leave just a little. If you don't pull the slack out installation definitely goes sideways, and we had to play with it a little bit the first time we installed it. And it goes in level with a little play too--give yourself about 10 minutes the first time just to play around. I have removed and re-installed the seat 4 times since March, and have had NO issues with it. It's actually the first car seat I can say I did that with entirely on my own as usually my husband has to Hulk out on a car seat to get it to install tightly--and we've owned several (even other Britax models) among different cars. It takes about 5 minutes beginning to end to remove and reinstall. Dirt--I read a review (here or somewhere else) about how someone's child urinated in the seat and they didn't know it because it was caught in the bottom and they didn't notice--I don't think I understand how that is even possible. This has been the easiest to clean car seat I've ever owned because it's so easy to get the cover off and pull up on the ClickTight mechanism and dust bust the base out. SUPER easy. The only con--and this is true with all quality car seats--is the expense. But if you're questioning whether it's worth it, it IS--Britax has made the best car seats I've owned and ClickTight makes it even better. ... show more

    • At first I didn't love this carseat

This is our second click tight car seat. At first I didn't love this carseat, because the click tight feature is hard to use in a sedan. I couldn't get the right angle for it to simply "click tight." However, now that I'm driving an SUV I can easily click it tight and be done. This is especially good, since I sometimes have to put my seats down, to fit large things in the car. It makes taking them out a breeze. Recently, I took the carseat apart to wash it, and it was surprisingly easy to piece back together. I love that I don't have to rethread the straps when my daughter gets bigger. The seat seems to be comfortable-though I was blessed with children that don't sleep in the car. ... show more

This car seat was a breeze to install! I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze, which is tiny, but this car seat fits nicely! I tested it out on my big kid and am now currently using it for my infant. My older child loved it, he thought it was so comfortable. My infant seems to like it as well, no tears! If you have a small car and need a more narrow seat, this is it. After lots of research on car seat dimensions and safety, this seemed to be the best choice for my needs... the only draw back i can think of is if you’re tall or have a tall passenger, this seat might not work so well rear facing behind that seat in the “light blue” setting. I have it behind the passenger seat which I moved all the way up and the back rest is very upright in order for the car seat to be where it needs to be. Other than that, no complaints. ... show more
