Description

The Allegiance Convertible Car Seat is safe and comfortable for your growing child while you're on the go. Car seat installation is a breeze with push button Latch connectors and built in lock offs. Designed with Britax safety technologies, the Allegiance car seat features the patented Britax SafeCell Impact Protection system which includes side impact protection, a steel frame, impact absorbing base, and forward movement reducing v shaped tether. The Allegiance Convertible Car Seat is made with a strong layer of side energy absorption; a foam lined shell will shield your child from side impacts in the event of a collision. Plus, foam padding and three recline positions keep your baby comfy and cozy along the way, while the 10 position easy adjust harness and headrest allows you to never have to rethread again. The Allegiance car seat can be used rear facing 5 40 pounds and forward facing 20 65 pounds, the child standing height 49" or less. Car seat dimensions 18.5" W x 26" H x 21" D. 10 position harness slot heights 8.5" to 17.5". FAA approved. Removable body pillow ensures even small newborns fit snuggly in the seat.

I just returned my Extend2Fit because it seemed no matter what I did, I could not get my daughters straps securely against her chest. This carseat is a breeze to adjust! The straps loosen to adjust so smoothly and tighten just as easily with the simple press of the lever. It was such a sigh of relief after having to fight with the Extend2Fit, and still not feeling like it was right. The manual says to be reclined all the way into the third position for rear facing, which was ridiculously easy just like everything else about this seat, so ignore the review that says "does not recline," because the "RECLINE" bar is bright red and says "RECLINE" and its right under babies feet. Anyways, the best part about this carseat is no more threading the straps at babys shoulders. There is a panel along the inside of the back of the seat that clicks up and down adjusting the height of the straps for you. It could not be any easier. The one thing I had to do was remove the gray flexible chest straps because my daughter is small at 20 pounds ( she is barely 18 months) and they prevented the straps from firmly fitting against her belly. The booklet said those were really more designed for when your child is forward facing anyways, as they are an extra shock absorbing safety feature in case of impact. This seat is incredibly simple to adjust, and as a mother I feel so much more confident knowing that my daughter will be secure in it. It was more expensive that the Extend2Fit but knowing what I know now I would have not even wasted time looking for a sale price on that one, and would have gotten this instead. ... show more

This child seat is blessedly easy to install! It has clear instructions and is sturdy without being too heavy. It rates highly for safety, also. I’ve bought four car seats so far and this is by far my favorite!

This car seat has great reviews. I like the mid range price. This pink dot color was $20 less than the neutral colors, I need to save and I have a girl. I’m happy the color is more purple than bright pink like it appears in the pictures on Amazon. I’m excited on taking this car seat on a road trip.

    • Not really for newborns but great for infants and toddlers.
My son is 1.5 years old and I have used the Britax Allegiance since day one with him, and now use it for my daughter. These car seats are super easy to install, and are extremely durable. I've used a Gracco car seat at the in-laws when we visited and compared to Britax it felt very cheaply made and not very sturdy at all. The only way that Britax could improve on this car seat is if they made it to recline at more of an angle for infants. When we brought the children home from the hospital they were dwarfed in the seat and because there was not enough of an angle they were almost sitting upright. This review is for the BROTAX ALLEGIANCE. A lot of the reviews under this product are other (fancier) models of Britax seats. I have 3 kids, this is the 8th carseat I have purchased. I am a freak about reading manuals, installing properly and have had my installations checked without issues in the past. Here are my pros & cons for this carseat: PROS: - The padding for this seat cover is awesome! Nice and cushy, cute designs available. - Has the seatbelt lock-off option (also see con on this). - Size/width not too bulky for a steel frame convertible carseat. CONS: - The latch connections slide along the steel frame for rear to forward position installation, it puts them in an odd spot. - No matter what I did, in 2 different cars, the carseat sat on top of the latch connector. Making it difficult to reach for in-inatalling. Also, my worry is the seat sitting on the latch button...? Seems weird - Really tough to get this correctly angled in buck seats for a rear facing position. Even with rolled towels and a pool noodle, it was barely acceptable. - Seatbelt lock offs seem like cheaper plastic. AND the manual states you still need to lock the car seatbelt. Ummmmm....I bought this carseat because I drive an older van with seat belts that don’t have ALR.....so I would not be able to even install this using the seatbelt once my little reaches 40 pounds without a locking clip. Defeats the purpose of buying a seat with this option. You can spend about the same amount of money for something better.... ... show more

Great product for the price. Much more sturdy and comfortable than all the carseats I've previously used for my kids over the last 9 years of parenthood. Also, my daughter loves the color and is happier to get into her seat because she thinks it's pretty.

This is a really nice seat. Easy to install and tighten. Easy to adjust. Came with a bunch of extra pads we didn't need because we waited until the baby was 6 months to use.
