I recently had a helical cutter head on my Dewalt 735X planer. It worked super great and cut smoothly. After the blades had been turned, all the way around, I needed new blades, but couldn't afford another helical head. Although this is no substitute for a helical cutter, this set of blades are doing a remarkable job and cutting far beyond my expectations. In the two photos with lumber, one photo is before I sent it through the planer, and the other is after. I only took two shallow passes and this is what I got. For two shallow passes, these blades are doing great work and providing straight and smooth cuts. Having two cutting edges and reversible blades to be able to use the reverse side, I would say it doesn't get much better than this unless several hundred are spent on helical cutters! I may eventually go back, but for now, this set of blades (Under $30.00) suits me fine. ... show more

The set matches exactly with the blades I purchased earlier. They arrived wrapped in a clear plastic bag inside a sturdy plastic case. (see the pictures). I compared the edges with some of my existing blades, and could not discern any differences. The blades in my planer are still sharp, so I probably won't be able to test these until spring. If my opinion changes (specifically with respect to durability), I will edit this review. ... show more

The Dewalt branded blades run $58 / set (January, 2024). These are $26 and, as far as I can tell, work just as well. Note: if you are replacing blades for the first time, the DW735x blades are double-sided; so, you get a free flip on each set. If you are doing a lot of planing, it seems like it's better to get a carbide insert helical cutterhead set-up. They are coming down in price a lot and worth a consideration. I nicked both edges of the blades in my planer on some wood my neighbor brought over that he had not gotten all the nails out of. OUCH! He paid for these and saved the planer and our friendship. They cut as well as the original brand. He has promised to be nicer to my planer in the future. In the meantime I have purchased a spare set of these for myself as backup. ... show more

These are a good quality replacement for the original blades on the DW735. Of course, I cannot speak to their longevity yet, but they work! No complaints so far. Recommended!

These blades are exact replacements for the original blades as far as I could tell. They plane the wood beautifully and smooth. The price point is right in the realm of all the other replacement blades for the 735X planer. Good quality and good price.
