I was confused as to how the trimmer gauge worked on this initially, but it's very easy to use and precise in it's adjustment. I fully charged the unit when it arrive (it was mostly charged) and haven't had to plug it back in yet. Trims quickly/efficiently - just a couple of passes from different directions does the trick. if I had a complaint it's that it comes with yet another/different charging cord that is different from every other similar product. I’ve only used this razor twice, so I may update my review later, but since this is far from my first razor, I feel compelled to comment on what makes this razor uniquely different: - it’s head design w/dial to adjust length of cut is very clever and eliminates the hassle of having to carry the multiple/snap-on cutting length adjusters typical of most other razors - it’s smaller and lighter, making it easier to carry - it cuts perfectly and quickly - it’s good value for the money The only thing I’m uncertain about is how long it will last, especially since it’s mostly made of lightweight plastic. I doubt it would survive being dropped from anything greater than a height of 6 inches, so I’m being very careful not to do that. ... show more

I had the previous model that lasted me about 18 months. I decide to go ahead and stick with the same manufacturer because I liked the dial in length. I travel with this and didn't want to have a bunch of clip-on combs to have to put on and off for different lengths. The newer model seems to have a little more oomph to it. It trims well, and the adjustable guard is very convenient and easy to operate. The downsides are that the battery drains considerably quickly, and there's no indicator to let you know when it's fully charged. Other than those two things, I'm very happy with this purchase.

The adjustable guard is a great innovation - no more juggling different length guards. Only complaint is the proprietary adapter that has a very short cable connecting to a USB A male plug. Battery life is so far very good.

I ended up having to upgrade after my other braun trimmer's headpiece broke. I bought this one notices some big difference. It is a lighter than my previous trimmer, which is a plus. Comfortable, consistent cut. I use it to shave my head and trim my beard and it works great. My only complaint is that it doesn't shave quite all the way to the skin. (so if you prefer a 0 cut, expect a 1) so you will never be all the way clean with it, but I'm certainly going to stick with this trimmer until it goes under. None of the mess or excess trimmer guards with other companies, just the one guard that adjusts is nice.
