Literally the best jacket ever
Color: Olive
Size: X-Large
I thought the reviews of people just gushing over this thing we’re all paid promotion. But holy crow, when you actually see it for yourself… Not only is this thing incredibly well made but it’s utterly practical. I bought it as a motorcycle jacket for multiple seasons. The removable inner liner is so
ridiculously warm. What is that, alpaca? Must be some extinct animal fur. It feels like heaven. And looks great as a stand-alone bomber. Comfy enough to sleep in. The outer layer is incredible. Thick, solid, attractive. I can’t speak on the longevity but I can tell you this- I’d be willing (not wanting) to eat it wearing this jacket. No it’s not officially padded, and no I wouldn’t be doing 200mph pro races wearing only this, but it takes a lot of willpower to put your shoulder into the pavement to save your arm and hand in a spill. I’ll trust my tattoos to this jacket in most riding conditions. Little things make it perfect for me. The stash away hood. The enclosures around every opening to stop wing from getting in. The cut and stitching. All top notch. The things that worried me in the reviews were stuff about the zipper and size issues. The inner jacket is held on by another zipper that functions independently when apart. Maybe that’s why they put the zipper on the left. Who knows? Who cares. Is that really such a big deal? I’m 6 foot 230ish and I got an XL. the outer layer is baggy but presentable and the inner layer is cozy yet spacious. When together you feel like the Michelin man, but that’s to be expected wearing essentially 2 heavy coats. If you want this jacket to fit like a button down shirt, maybe order a size down. If you want your jacket to fit like a heavy duty jacket should, order your size. Shipment took slightly longer than expected but the seller was quick to make things right with me. This is probably the most rewarding Amazon purchase I’ve ever made. If I saw this in person with a $500 tag in it I wouldn’t think twice. Worth every penny.

I ordered this coat because it was similar to an old second hand Army coat I had when I was younger. I specifically wanted the zip in liner with the faux wool, which is harder to find. Many have a quilted liner that I don't like as much. I'm 6'3, and heavy built. The reviews indicated to order a size
up from what you normally would, and I'm glad I did, the coat is bulky with the liner in, but fairly light weight with it removed. The size larger fit well. The outer coat wears a little long on the body, so be prepared for that. The liner is easy to remove it zips in and has a few buttons that secure it. The shell and hood are not weather proof, but water repellant spray will easily make this a comfortable coat for camping or outdoor activities. There are plenty of pockets and draw strings and velcro for sizing needs. My only mild complaint which is easily remedied would be the tag that says Giant, in the spot where your name might be on a coat. A stitch remover can take the tag off fairly easily. I was prepared for the coat to take a month to arrive as it was shipped from Wales, however DHL delivered it in 5 days. I've never written a review before of a purchase but I was very pleased with my purchase!

The Best Military Jacket On The Planet Hands Down - The Best Service As Well
Color: Olive
Size: XX-Large
I love this jacket! It is so warm and comfortable to wear. I like that the hood is big enough to cover my whole head. The zipper is high quality. The collar is stretchable and the fabric is soft. I also like that it is lightweight so I don't feel like I'm wearing anything. I am so glad that I found t
his jacket because it is perfect for when it's cold outside. The Dress Code Shop are the best people to communicate with and they helped me with choosing the best size. It does take some time for the coat to come if you are in the states please be patient because this jacket is worth the wait. The Dress Code Shop are amazing people and they respond fast to all communications. I am getting compliments from everyone and people want to know where I got my coat. The inner lining is a separate jacket so please compensate for room if you order. Think of it like having a hoodie on already under your coat. I naturally wear a 2X and I made the mistake of listening to the reviews that say the coat is oversized, I find that not to be true because I ordered a 1X thinking the coat was super big and I was wrong so I urge everyone to order your actual size and compensate for the inner lining. I ended up needing a 2X and Dress Code Shop helped me out a lot and they made sure I had the right size coat. If you are a 2X get a 2X if you are an XL get an XL. If you want it to be roomy and you have a pot belly order one size up. If you have a flat stomach order the right size. I have a pot belly and I am 6 feet even and have a pot belly and the 2X works fine and I am comfortable. Another thing to note is that the coat is extremely warm and if you overheat then this jacket only needs a thin shirt to be worn because the lining jacket is very thick and warm. If you attempt to wear a hoodie with the lining and the jacket you may overheat. Here is my advice for hoodie wearers either take the lining out (which is a separate jacket). I do believe the lining is good enough that you won't need an additional hoodie but if you insist on wearing a hoodie then removing the lining should be adequate enough for warmth. I highly recommend ordering this jacket just be patient because if you are in the United States it can take about 6-8 weeks for the jacket to arrive. So please communicate with the good people in Germany - The Dress Code shop if you feel a little impatient don't just refund because the coat is worth the wait. It is an experience to get a military jacket of this high quality. Five Stars!!!

Revised 12-12-2017 The photos of the M-65 Giant hardly describe the jacket as it is so much more than could be captured by a camera lens. I received it promptly after ordering via Prime & Amazon fulfilled. The quality is about what I'd expect from a German "engineered" product: excellent. I had conce
rns re the weave of the all cotton shell. I applied Nikwax for cotton garments and it has achieved some reasonable repellency. (I would have preferred that Brandit had woven the jacket with a tight weave blend to achieve water repellency as manufactured. At 5'9" and 190#, I normally wear a size Large. With the fleece liner (not shown in the Amazon photos; refer to my pictures), the jacket is slightly snug, but not so snug that I'd return the jacket for a XL size. Without the liner, it fits comfortably loose. The overall fit on me is very similar to the jacket on the model here on Amazon: sleeves down to the first joint of my fingers and bottom hem just below my crotch. A note re the liner: it keeps me warm while the temp is in the low 30's and, though not worn in temps in the mid to high, 20's, I expect it to keep me warm there, too. Re the "M-65 GIANT" over the right breast pocket and the "Brandit" logo strips over the right with some fancy stitch work, I'm guessing the target consumers are millennials. But, as another reviewer noted, a seam ripper is the simple solution (a solution I applied) if you don't like these added "decorations." If I had to offer anything negative at all, it's that the snaps that close the storm flap are a bit wimpy. The bottom snap unfastens with the slightest stress. I took care of that by replacing it with a much larger snap. Also, maybe some more hook-and-loop on the cuffs as with the cuff 'tightened' as much as it will go, they still fall over my hands. Fixed it by adding some more hook-n-loop and that did the job A note re Brandit customer service: I was looking all over the US for the jacket in my size in tan without luck. I contacted Brandit in Germany looking for one and to inquire re the weave of the shell. I am pleased to report not only did I get a prompt and kind response, albeit negative to the availability in tan at the time. Seems Brandit grossly underestimated the popularity of that color. I got a >second< email from their customer service today asking whether or not I had received the jacket yet and asking how I liked it. These days, the amount of Good Will that a company buys by investing in good customer service simply cannot be overstated. Bottom line for my comments: If you are trying to decide between an authentic M-65 field jacket and an improved knock-off, IMHO, you won't go wrong with the M-65 Giant despite the price difference. Update Feb 2018. Have some experience now with this jacket's warmth: great mid-weight jacket for temps in the 40-55 deg F range. At 40, esp if the humidity is up, it's on the edge of cool for me. With the substantial fleece liner, it'll easily keep you warm down into the high 20s. Still no regrets making this purchase. Update 3-2020 I have since substituted this jacket for a Mil-Spec M-65 who made it with a 65% polyester/35% cotton shell for the SOLE reason that I gained a modicum of water repellancy. Despite my efforts with Nikwax for cotton garments ad other products for the purpose, there seems to be only one way to achieve water repellancy with this jacket: thoroughly apply a generous solution of melted bees wax and a suitable thinner. :-(( I truly think Brandit would do well to change the shell of this jacket to a poly/cotton blend else the wearer needs relegating wearing it to when the weather prognosticator doesn't predict any precipitation.

High Quality Well Crafted Garment
Color: Black
Size: X-Large
I am so impressed with this M65 Field Jacket. Brandit did an exceptional job recreating the classic military issue multi layered coat, but with a hefty dash of wearable fashion. This is not some cheaply made knock off. The attention to detail is very good. Zippers, button snaps, draw strings, velcro
enclosures, all are top notch. Very, very few loose threads (if any, I didn’t find any on this coat). As far as sizing goes: Like others have mentioned, the jacket fits perfectly as intended with its inner lining intact. It’s a warm dual insulated jacket. I’m 5’8, 185 lbs and an XL fit me perfectly. Normally I wear between a L and XL depending on the make. It’s not light weight but it’s very comfortable and sits well balanced on my frame. Now when I took the inner liner jacket out, the XL of course is going to sit loose. Not terrible but needs layering up to fill it out properly. If you’re looking for a “thin shell” field jacket, Brandit does make their version and I’m guessing I’d size down one notch for as intended fit. The styling and cut of this jacket looks and feels like something you could wear out on the town just as much as out in the woods. It just fits and looks sharp , more so than my old issued Alpha M65s. For the price, it is a sound choice. If you’re looking for a multi use warm jacket that looks and feels awesome, this is it. 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (See attached photos, with liner removed, then fully assembled)

Great Looking Jacket plus very warm
Color: Olive
Size: Medium
Excellent jacket. Great quality and very warm. For those who are looking for a warm jacket that can be used for warmer weather with the liner removed this is a great choice. I wore it in 32F in Michigan with cold winds, and I just had a t-shirt underneath, didn't feel cold at all compared to my other
jacket. Regarding the sizing, I went for Medium and it fits snugly with the liner in, without the liner it's a bit loose(but not too much) which means if I went with large it would probably fit in a very weird way without the liner(it would probably seem like I borrowed it from someone bigger than me). So, if you want two jackets in one keep in mind that without the liner it suddenly becomes a bit bigger jacket, but if you don't mind that change or you don't plan on using it for the warmer weather then choose the size accordingly. Some notes: -the zipper seems to be of great quality, it does zip on the left instead of the right, but I've been through jackets from all over the world so it's not that difficult to get used to the zipper on different side. -the hood is good :) for rain and it's pretty big(I managed to cover my head with the baseball cap on) which means it should be good for snow and rain, time will tell -it comes tightly packaged so it may seem too small and once you put it on you'll need to "stretch" it -the style combined with the olive colour does make it seem like a real military jacket which is what I was going for and clearly Brandit did as well -the patches, the patches, what can I say about them? I don't really care about them, and they don't seem to care about me :) so, I guess they can be removed, but you'll need some cutting tools -there's no inner pocket, which I figure everyone who did a basic check on this type of jackets knows already, but just in case -the available pockets are roomy enough to put hands in when it gets colder -the seemingly many strings aren't that many and they are useful I was looking for this type of jacket since 2012 or there about, and the ones that I considered buying for $60-$70 turned out to be Made in China, which I wouldn't mind but some reviews said that zipper broke and some other damages happened to those jackets very easily. The ones that are over $100 are the ones that are made in various places across Europe(and there are a few true US military jackets, but they are true camo style which is a bit much for me). I thought about going for the Polish version, but the shortness of it redirected my views to here and this one is of perfect length for me(basically it covers the groin area). All in all, great jacket.

Great replica - True to size - but only if you are.
Color: Light Woodland
Size: Large
Size discussion follows. I bought two of these; and have original US Army M65 jackets. GREAT true to spec US Army M65 Jacket except for three items: 1. The lining is better, warmer and more comfortable than the US Army M65. 2. It has European zipper and buttons on the 'wrong side'. This is probably t
he only real drawback of the jacket (for North Americans). I was tempted to give only 4 stars for this. 3. The funky 'Giant' patches. Should have been Velcro. They look ridiculous unless you like them. Size. There are a lot of complaints here about the size. However, if you look the OVERWHELMING response is that the jacket is true to size and I agree fully. (Less than 5% report the jacket too large; and less than 5% report it too small.) Here is how to understand the sizing:. 1. Its an exact match for the US Army sizing. Its true to size - but only if you are. 2. The jacket is intended to be worn all day in the field with the lining on and winter clothes underneath. If you intend on wearing it for a trip to the store/ club/ school with a tee shirt underneath it will be too large. If you intend on wearing it with the lining removed (why?) then it will be too large. If you are spindly, or from genetics where you would be considered 'large' in your country/heritage, but not 'large' in the US Army , then it will be too large for you. 3. If you wear it as intended, out in the cold during the winter, with winter clothes underneath, it will fit just right Overall, I give it 4.6 stars. Took almost a half off for the reverse zipper; and the "giant' patch. However, it works great and keeps me warm all day outdoors in the winter.

Good casual winter coat, in the desert.
Color: Camel
Size: X-Large
I live in Arizona, this is a good winter coat. Cotton outer is soft and comfortable. With liner, it will stand up to real cold temps at higher elevations. Shell is lined, easy on/off. Liner is poly, so also easy. Hood is a joke, always has been with the M-65, but yocan fold and fit a shemagh in the c

The quality is great. It is easily comparable to those of Ralph Lauren’s M65 Jacket at less than half the price, but be aware of the size. I’m 6’4” and 230 lbs and “Large” fits me the best, and believe me I learned this the hard way! 😅 I ordered a XXL which was way too big for me. I don’t know if a h
uman that size even exists since Andre the Giant passed away. (Oh wait! Shaquille O’Neal is still around, so…) Then, I got an XL because Amazon suggested it based on my previous purchases which was still too big for me. My entire arms and hands were hiding inside the sleeves and I looked like a ventriloquist doll in that jacket. Then, I got a Large. It fits me just right. I think I can even get away with a medium but …. The color, the fit, the inside fleece jacket which is removable, and that little hoodie hiding inside the collar is just cool. The jacket looks cool and fashionable but also pretty practical and outdoor reliable. So…that’s my 2 cents!

It said it would take a month to get here...it took about 3 days! First off let me say that I bought a different Brandit jacket that did not fit well and I had to return. This jacket however is amazing. It was hard for me to find detailed sizing info so I'll give mine to help out the community. I ord
ered the XL jacket; I am 6'1'' and about 220 pounds with about a 43 inch chest. This jacket fits snug with the liner in, about enough space to wear a fleece along with the jacket and liner. Without the liner it's a good loose fit but not too loose. It comes down right to the end of my bottom but not past the cheeks. The sleeves are long...almost an inch or two too long but they have this weird hook and loop square that pulls back some of the length and then they have the hook and loop tightener so you can keep the sleeves on the wrist no problem. The jacket is of good quality, great for the spring/fall without the liner, good for a blizzard with it. The zipper is on the left which is a bit awkward and the inner zipper for the liner is made of plastic but seems sturdy nonetheless. The liner itself is warm enough to be used as a smoking jacket or something when it gets chilly. It's almost like getting two jackets in one. It does have an internal cinch cord if you want a fitted look and it has one at the bottom too...(in case you want to tie yourself up like a trash bag.) My only beef with the jacket is the massive GIANT M65 and BRANDIT logos on it. They simulate a name tape and military branch tape but to me they're a bit tacky. I easily removed them with a seam ripper in a few minutes. Problem solved. All in all an excellent jacket and one of my very favorite. I would recommend to anyone who likes the M65 style jacket. I did serve and I will tell you this: the modern Army field jacket is thicker than this one but the liner is thinner. This jacket is suitable for more climates than the real field jacket and the liner of the Brandit is more substantial--almost like having a second jacket. I hope this helps.
