We were foolish and bought the small 500 piece set. My 3 year old LOVES these. And they are really fun for all of us to sit together and create things as a family. We needed more because we ran out of the colors we wanted and weren't all able to build big things together at the same time. We have had these since for 4 months now and they are by far and away the most played with toy we have. It's every day, most of the day. One thing I really love about them is how small and put-away-able they are. If you have 2500 legos, they are going to be bursting out of everywhere. 2500 of these babies all compact down into this nice little box. And yet you can still build as big of things as you do with legos. And far more interesting things - in my opinion. It has really sparked creativity in my daughter. I could not be happier with these. Finally bought the big one. Worth it. Kids always fought over the smaller container. I put off this purchase for probably a year. Dreading hundreds of brain flakes everywhere. 2 kids, 6 and 9, love to build stuff. Print all the instructions.

My son absolutely loves the smaller set of brain flakes he had received as a gift earlier this year. So, for his birthday, I decided to order this bigger set and was really excited to see it came with its own storage tote as well. Unfortunately, when they arrived the storage tote was cracked which was somewhat disappointing because their are a LOT of little pieces. That said, the actual brain flakes are amazing! I would highly recommend them. Hopefully, the company will be willing to work with me to get a replacement tote. ... show more

Got a set of these for my 9 yr old granddaughter for Christmas last year. She loves them and requested more for her 10th birthday, sooooo got her another set. You can't believe what kids can build with this. It's amazing. They are durable and come in a great bin for storage.

    • Amazing set
My almost 10 year old niece has had the smaller barrel off these for a couple of years and did a lot with them. I saw this set a while back and was going to buy it for a special occasion. Well, school being out for at least 6 weeks qualified but I hid them until a rainy day before busting them out. We’ve both been playing with them for about 3 hours and have made quite a few things and it’s barely put a dent in the supply of flakes. For the Accessories we got a few more than advertised: 28 wheels 15 axels 10 “Rotating Connector Pieces” For the life of me I can’t figure out what the “Rotating Connector Pieces” are for. They don’t fit in the wheels because the end connection point is smaller than that of the axles. Can someone please explain those?!? Lol ... show more
