I've been eating "good tasting" nutritional yeast for years. For some reason, it's become increasingly difficult to find in stores. Luckily, Amazon still has it (as does Whole Foods, if you know where to look). Nutritional yeast is made from a deactivated yeast and has a cheesy, pleasant flavor. It is rich in nutrients, particularly B-complex vitamins that vegetarians often lack in their diet. I first learned about it from The Farm's vegetarian cookbook. One of my favorite uses is to sprinkle it on buttered toast or buttered popcorn (try it!). It lends food a delicious savory cheesy flavor, a hint of saltiness, and is quite good for you. I like Bragg products overall. This yeast has top kosher certification. I purchased this along with two other brands of nutritional yeast (Red Star Savory Nutritional Yeast Flakes and Great Value "Walmart" brand) to compare flavors because I was told it adds a "cheesy" flavor to foods. I’ve tried other brands and haven’t been excited with them and came across this one. I use it on foods and in recipes. I like this one and will purchase it again. When I go to purchase a food I look at the ingredients and nutrition label first. Very low sodium but a bit high in potassium which unfortunately is expected to replace the sodium. I started using nutritional yeast for some recipes and I loved the "cheesiness" flavor of it. I love putting it on my popcorn for a cheesy nutty flavor instead of butter! Much healthier topping.
