I've been eating "good tasting" nutritional yeast for years. For some reason, it's become increasingly difficult to find in stores. Luckily, Amazon still has it (as does Whole Foods, if you know where to look). Nutritional yeast is made from a deactivated yeast and has a cheesy, pleasant flavor. It is rich in nutrients, particularly B-complex vitamins that vegetarians often lack in their diet. I first learned about it from The Farm's vegetarian cookbook. One of my favorite uses is to sprinkle it on buttered toast or buttered popcorn (try it!). It lends food a delicious savory cheesy flavor, a hint of saltiness, and is quite good for you.
