  • This is a really great phone/tablet mount.
This is my third purchase of this product, and I finally bought two of them so I don't have to keep moving it between my two vehicles. My first one was purchased years ago at a truck stop. A little over a year later, I broke it when mounting it to my windshield as I pushed to hard on the lever. My last one, I broke trying to adjust the angle at which it held my phone. Both of these were my fault and did not have anything to do with defects in the mounts. I like to protect my phones so I purchase cases that do not allow me to use any of the magnets or vent mount systems. The phone and the case weigh too much for those mounts, plus adding the case has made the phone too thick to use those systems. The Bracketron Pro-Mount XL Windshield Mount holds my phone without any problems. I have used it to hold an iPad air when traveling to allow me to see more of the map, but it does block the windshield of my Rogue quite a bit. I will continue to use the Bracketron Pro-Mount XL Windshield Mount as long as I am able to replace them. The suction cup on this device is a lot better than all of the others I have tried. It even holds better between the hot and cold temperatures where I live, but it will still fall off which is not as often as the other mounts that I have tried. I just clean the window where I attach the mount and put it back. I really like the rugged construction of this mount. On the other two, it was my brute force that broke them. ... show more

  • Good products- poor internals
Bracketron makes great phone/tablet mounts for the car. I've owned several at this point and a common and consistent problem I have found is the internal gears (plastic) tend to fail rather quickly. After the last one failed I took it apart and fixed it myself-obviously you shouldn't have to do this but..... The cheap plastic gears that open and close the width of the cradle fail and it's very frustrating when you can't push the release button and have the cradle width open wider to remove your phone. It's like it's locked in the cradle. You can easily remove it but now you have no adjustability and the tighter you squeeze it the smaller the "phone opening" gets and you can't manually re-open it. I think some aluminum gears would be better and last longer. Their design otherwise is awesome, they thought of some little things like the swivel feet at the base of your phone on cradle and more adjustable features than I have seen on other phone mounts. Sides of the cradle are adjustable both laterally and vertically (for taller devices). Suction mount cup is crazy strong. Never had it fall off windshield and I drive professionally about 60k miles/ yr. I have a second one that I epoxied a circular magnet from Harbor Freight to the suction cup for a permanent bond and I use that one in the rear of the van magnetically mounted to van wall for watching Netflix before bed. Works awesome and has great flexibility/adjustability/articulation. ... show more

  • Big and bulky - good for large tablets, I can't get it to hold my radar detector level
I bought this unit for a radar detector because detector needs to lay horizontal. Most other devices on the market are for phones or nav devices. I also wanted something really secure because, as we know, when the little suction cups give way, the unit crashes into whatever and breaks. Problem is, this thing is huge. My car has a smaller windshield and slanted - typical sporty car. This units large size partially blocks my view. I got used to that by swaying back and forth around corners. Almost too big for a secure hold of the radar detector. It would be too big except there are little feet that pivot up, like a gate, which keeps it from sliding forward. With the slant of the windshield, I quite can't adjust the mount to hold my device level, almost but... But, if I had a large tablet, it would hold it just fine. The jaws extend the 9 and stay firmly in place. The suction seems strong enough for a few pounds. I can't image driving with an 8x8 tablet in my face tho. It claims 3.25 inches on the small side, not quite that small. ... show more

  • Versatile product
Could have used a slightly longer arm, but, aside from that.....good product.

  • I’m planning to buy another one :-)
Like the adaptability for any angle of mounting surface. I have used it for a little over a year. There are 4 attachment points for the suction cup to the mount. I noticed this morning that 3 of mine are broken. One was still holding it on the windshield, but I’m not sure how much longer it’ll hold up. All-in-all, it’s still a good value considering what it has been through. ... show more

  • Broke first time I used it
Bulky. Best thing I can say is that it suctions to windshield very well. Will stay all day until you remove it. The rest of it is plastic and not good quality. Mine broke first time I used it. I bought another. 2nd one I’m still using but a couple things have broken on it. The screw that allows movement on arm is stripped and cannot be moved or changed now. Sometimes phone falls out when I hit bumps while driving because it doesn’t hold a tight grip. ... show more

  • Was Perfect
It took me a while to find something that actually works. I love it. Edit 7/24/20 The suction is ripping off the unit. Have no information to contact to see if still under warranty. Product should not be doing this after 9 months.

  • Gets the job done
I bought this to use when I needed to use my GPS it attached easily and has a strong suction, I have a kickstand on my phone that pushes it forward a bit and on a bumpy road my phone begins to slip a little, but the stand is much sturdier than others at a similar price.
