I like the heavier plastic liner vs. the thinner ones that can cling to you during your shower. I can’t address to the cleaning aspect as I haven’t done that yet. But am not anticipating any problems with that.

My boyfriend has a horrible time remembering to close the shower curtain, so I bought this looking for a mold-resistant shower curtain. The bottom still molds if you don't close the curtain. If you close it, it seems to be fine. Just spraying bleach on it doesn't seem to get rid of it. I have not washed it any other way so I cannot comment on that. Other than that, it's great. I needed a new liner and wanted to add something cute into our dark bathroom. It's not fully see through and the pattern is nice. Pretty easy to clean and I used the prior hooks that I had instead of the ones that came with it.
