The mounts have copper connections built in for the speakers, so you only have to connect the speaker wire to the mount, and the mount connects to the speakers. Really sturdy. Since you have to mount the speakers upside down, the mounts have a BOSE logo on them that covers up the now upside down BOSE logo of the speakers. A nice touch. ... show more

The installation is relatively easy, If your attic is opened.. I would doubt it's a self-installed project, if you don't have open space above your ceiling. I installed it and plugged it in.. The soundbar recognized it right away.. But, one of the speakers didn't work.. Had to test it with the speaker provided interface,, It was the ceiling mount interface, that didnt connect to the speaker... Have to return this and get another one.. ... show more
