Description

The ninja adventures continue with Naruto’s son, Boruto! Naruto was a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He achieved his dream to become the greatest ninja in his village, and now his face sits atop the Hokage monument. But this is not his story... A new generation of ninja is ready to take the stage, led by Naruto's own son, Boruto! Years have passed since Naruto and Sasuke teamed up to defeat Kaguya, the progenitor of chakra and the greatest threat the ninja world has ever faced. Times are now peaceful and the new generation of shinobi has not experienced the same hardships as its parents. Perhaps that is why Boruto would rather play video games than train. However, one passion does burn deep in this ninja boy’s heart, and that is the desire to defeat his father! Read more

  • Good Start
Boruto volume 1 largely adapts content that the movie and the tv anime told, however, in the manga form, as I will describe, it is a decent albeit lacking start. Mainly, the events that transpire would feel more interesting and impactful if we had been with the new characters from the start of their time at the ninja academy to the run up for the genin exam…since we are thrown right into things, we don’t get any sort of connection establish with them. Sasuke and Naruto are present and Boruto as well and to an extent Konohamaru, but well, we are already familiar with them through 700 chapters but everyone else, well were here for the first time. I kind of wish it went with what the anime did and started sooner. Otherwise, the manga, beyond that is a good, interesting, and fast read. There were about four chapters here, and separating them are character profiles with stats, which are a little debatable in terms of the strength and intelligence metrics. There are no extras at all. ... show more

  • I hate Naruhina you hate naruhina, you hate boruto I don’t.
A sequel of a franchise that had an awful ending to begin with, what do you all hater expect?, the plot starts the same as the movie, unlike the anime the manga is really straight forward only focusing on Boruto so far, the story is simple a genius kid that wants attention from his dad, it would be so disliked if the manga had better art, it’s just ugly at some points, some character designs are completely different than the original, take Choujuro and Konohamaru, Choujuro looks like a junkie while Konohamaru like a afrodescendent, but I love they included Mitsukis one-shot, no matter how many time I read it I still love it ... show more

  • Not Bad
I have heard quite a bit about how horrible this new spin-off series is and how terrible the Boruto movie was. In fact, I haven't heard a good thing about it via mouth, but I wanted to read the series anyway. I am not going to say that it sucks compared to the parent series because in some cases it will never reach what Naruto did, but the premise isn't all that bad. I did see the movie and was glad this first volume went deeper into some of the characters. The first book is roughly half or so of the movie and already I like this tripod of kids better than the three from Naruto. I am not a fan of Sasuke or Sakura, but I do like their daughter. She has spunk. I'd like to see more of the side characters, but since this is the first of the series I am going to have to wait just like every other reader out there. I like Mitsuki and am excited to see where he goes as a character. As for Boruto (which that is a terrible name), I do hope they don't make him so disgusted with his dad that it comes off as ridiculous. I can understand the whole idea of not having a father who is really there. Hinata's comment about how he isn't like Naruto in that his father is alive isn't quite accurate. Naruto's father died, whereas Naruto is choosing to put his work duties ahead of his family duties. It is comparing apples and oranges, so Boruto has every right to feel neglected because as a kid he can see that his father is choosing one thing over the other, whereas dearly departed granddad didn't really have a choice, being dead and all. Sorry folks, Boruto does have a point. The family issues aside, I think my only complaint is the drawing. I am a huge fan of the drawings in the original series and how the characters appear as older seem off to me. I looked at Gaara and wondered if that was the same man. I'd like to see more of the Kage group in the future, especially since Gaara is my favorite Naruto character. Fun read, and recommended for people who are able to see the series as a stand alone rather than an attempt to revive a series that ended with a lot of fans and tears. ... show more

  • Nice
Reading this after watching the anime really shows you how much filler is produced. I will definitely keep reading over watching(only for the fight scenes). Love how the manga really showcases everyone's abilities in comparison to one another. Now I see how this is a great sequel.

  • Love!
I dunno how you could give a bad review for a manga....unless it's something you're reading for the first time... I digress.. This is a manga that takes place after the fifth ninja war and Naruto becomes Hokage and has kids. This is about his kid (Boruto) and Boruto's relationship with Naruto and everyone else around Boruto. The only MAJOR difference in all this is the art. It's done by someone else which is somewhat of a small let down but, you get used to it. Love Naruto and probably anything that involves Naruto. ... show more

  • Quite different from anime
Good book. First time reading a manga in the Naruto/Boruto universe. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the other books.
