  • 1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
Size: 30'' (180 - 250 lbs) Color: Blue
Full disclosure, I returned these. They arrived quickly but were really lacking in quality. The bindings seemed loose and flimsy and the color had already started to rub off the decks. I couldn't see these holding up long term.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent feel and control
Size: 25'' (120 - 180 lbs) Color: Blue
I am an avid hiker/backpacker who used to also snowboard a lot before I got married and started a family. For years, I had been wanting to own snowshoes because renting them added up cost over time. First, I got myself a MSR -- no question about it, it is one of THE top brands -- and wow, what a difference it made while walking around in deep and shallow snow! However, at over $300, it was a steep price my wife did not want to spend. When I came across this one, the feature specs sounded quite good, and I decided to get it for my wife to try out. After having rented cheaper ones from our local sporting goods store, she loves this particular set! She tested the shoes on 20-30% snow covered inclines, declines, and off-camber traverses, and she was impressed (as was I as an observer) by how solidly she was able to navigate. Not one time did I see her boot sliding forward or backward in the binding (which she later confirmed), and most importantly, she said that they felt comfortable. PROS - Good performance and grip - Quick mount/dismount - Heel lift makes it less tiring to traverse up - Adjustable hiking poles included with snow baskets - Material appears well made CONS - Without binding pivots, mobility is not as easy. Still, this set was good enough to maneuver with Included leg gaitors are a nice touch. We also use them for hiking and to keep ticks away. For sizing, take into consideration your weight + winter clothing + food and water + other weight. The stated, total weight limit is 200 lbs for the 25" version, and if you significantly overpack, the shoes could sink more in snow than you would like. Overall, the wife is quite happy with these snow shoes, and equally as important, after seeing the value of quality shoes, she is no longer as upset with me for having splurged on the MSR one :) ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars worked well, better for packed snow rather than deep powder
Size: 25'' (120 - 180 lbs) Color: Blue
these are a good set of basic snowshoes. They didn't come with any instructions so took a bit to figure out best way to put them on, but after that they were quite easy to use. They worked well with my son, who is about 110 lbs. Definitely better for somewhat packed snow (not trailed necessarily)-- they worked OK but just not as well in the backcountry, pristine, deep powder. They're not as nice as our MSR, but then, they cost a magnitude less (which is why my son has them and not our MSRs . . .). Lightweight, no slippage either with heel or off the boots, easy on and off once we figured it out the first time, seem well made. Good value ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite pair at this price point
Size: 25'' (120 - 180 lbs) Color: Blue
I tried three different pairs of snowshoes at this price point. This set was the far and away winner. The ratcheting system to tighten the snowshoes to my boots was superior to the others tested. The balance on these snowshoes was excellent. The highest compliment I can give to this product is: If I need another pair for friend or family, I will be reordering this brand. NOT ALL SNOWSHOES ARE THE SAME even if they look similar. This is my winner! ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great price for great snowshoes
Size: 25'' (120 - 180 lbs) Color: Blue
I love these snowshoes! Our family has 8 pair of snowshoes and these are by far the easiest to get on. It has a very easy 2 cinch buckle system and one clip behind the heel and your'e ready to go. I took these for a good trek that had drifts over 2 feet deep and they only sunk in about a foot on the deepest parts so that's pretty good. I love that it came with adjustable and convertible trekking poles to use on snow or change out the snow piece and you can take them hiking. The bag was a nice quality to hold on the pieces. I didn't try the boot/calf covers but they match the set and seem to be a good quality. I love the simple sleek look of these snowshoes and they were strong and held and distributed my weight well. I highly recommend these and have no complaints. ... show more
