  • Challenging and fun
Style: Alice in Wonderland
Ok this is not an easy project. The instruction manual is confusing and hard to read, and some wood pieces are rather thin and need to be removed very carefully. The overall architecture is very well done however. It's a surprising complex structure inside with varying side window sizes to increase the depth perception. The clock is the back elegant. A quick advice. If you sand down the wood connectors a bit, it's a lot easier to put them together and you have less chance of breaking anything. We painted some pieces with gold accent and it greatly improves the look. The light switch design is rather clever. All in all we got a high degree of satisfaction having finished this. ... show more

  • Beautiful kit
Style: Alice in Wonderland
I bought this for my wife. The kit is beautifully executed. The instructions are easy to follow and intuitive. I really like the inductive light switch. It is a small as but it's super neat. Kit does not include adhesive. I highly recommend adding CA glue (super glue) to your order to make it work.

  • Book nook poor quality
Style: Alice in Wonderland
As I was assembling the product, I wanted to post my feelings and grievances in a couple areas: 1, the wooden panels are difficult to disassemble: some of the wooden panels are cut so loosely and some so tightly that they are incomplete when we disassemble them, sometimes they break and sometimes it takes a lot of effort to take them off. This rhythm is not good to control. 2, mini widgets cut size inconsistency: simply put, the pattern is not on the cut grid. 3, coloring pattern problem: some parts are a lot of patterns, but the pattern is also not on the grid, but also will come out, or not enough, is not complete color drawing. 4, the board has an odor: I do not know what the real material of this board is. But the smell is clearly a smell that wood should not have, because it is pungent, rather than the clear smell of wood. To summarize, consumers should not be left to worry about these issues。 ... show more

  • NOT easy but came out PERFECT❤️
Style: Alice in Wonderland
For my first book nook this was not an easy project. I ended up having someone help me with this to speed up the process and even then it took some days. Some of the pieces didn’t always fit together and the instructions weren’t always super clear. The accessories were in perfect condition and I had all the pieces. I did break a few while doing this but it was easily able to glue back together or be hidden. I would advise you glue everything even if it tells you not too. TRUST ME…just glue it. In the end it came out perfect and it looks amazing on my book shelf. The light is bright and works/ fits perfectly in the book😊 ... show more

  • Not for the unskilled
I gave this 4 stars because it’s a very nice piece when done, but it was difficult. I’ve made quite a few other book nooks and this was definitely the most difficult. The tabs all seemed to be a tiny bit too big, so unless I filed them, they either smashed or broke off when assembling. There are A LOT of delicate pieces and I had to file the tabs or they would break. Also, the instructions are hard to follow. It is done, but I feel like it’s SO fragile that I don’t even want to touch it. ... show more

  • Vague instructions
Style: Painter's Day at Dusk
I have built several book books and this kit was by far the most difficult to follow along with. The instructions left out several key points and steps, the illustrations were challenging to interpret and a couple of the pieces were so delicate with no back up piece. I had to glue EVERY connection together as nothing “snapped” into place. The only positive I enjoyed was the pieces were well decorated with bright colors and the paper pages for cutting out were good quality. ... show more
