  • Some quality issues and difficult assembly, but final product looks nice and seems quite functional
Color: White
Rating this product is difficult for me. The final product looks nice enough and works perfectly in the space we purchased it for, my daughter loves it, but the overall quality of the pre-fab panels are quite poor and the instructions, well, they are easily the worst I've ever seen and miss out some key information that could really help. To give some context, I've assembled dozens of this type of furniture and it took my about 2 hours to put this together, which isn't too bad really, but a lot of that time was wasted due to poor instructions. For example, the bags of parts are labeled with letters, and the instructions on one of the first steps specified that I needed "16 pcs" of the screws from the bag labeled "I", except there was no bag "I". After spending some time looking I eventually realized that bag "B" was also labeled as having the same size screws and sure enough, it was enough to cover both the "B" and "I" use cases. This only took a couple of minutes to figure out, but there were just so many things like this. Another issue was with the assembly of the drawer rails. It's so much easier to put the rails on BEFORE you assemble the base together, but the instructions would have you do this after, which means your sticking your arm and trying to do things without really being able to see. Certainly doable, but I can see how it would be frustrating for some people. I was lucky to notice this and put the rails on before I assembled, but little things like that are just annoying. In some cases panels can be assembled in two different directions but the drawings in the instructions only show the holes that this step uses, so you can put it together and then have to redo it. I also had problems with some holes stripping out way to easy. I fixed this with a little glue to make sure the screws would stay in place, but it just speaks to the poor quality of the materials. I've never experienced this problem with all the other pre-fab furniture I've assembled over the years. Summary: I didn't find it overly difficult to assemble, but it was probably 50% harder than it could have been with better instructions, slightly higher quality materials, and clearly/properly labeled parts per-step, and I've assembled quite a number of similar products that were better at all of these. That being said, we shopped quite a bit for a stand, and the others of similar size and style were quite a bit more expensive, and, in the end, the final, assembled product still looks quite nice and seems solid enough and I'm sure it will work well for it's intended purpose for many years to come, so I decided on 4 stars overall. ... show more

  • Read Reviews!
Color: White
Read the reviews and weight pros & cons before making the decision to purchase any item. Shipping was really fast because we are local in LA. We did not read thoroughly through the reviews and once the product arrived, we were stuck with terrible instructions. The video linked to the product shows different parts and when you search for a youtube video, there are very similar looking stands but you’ll have trouble finding it for this exact one. If you have experience in furniture assembly, this might not be as tedious as it is for a lot of others. We ended up hiring an experienced tasker because we wanted the results and it was completed in a little over an hour. The final product - looks sleek and amazing. It is not the sturdiest but it’s sturdy enough. If you have the patience and some sort of experience with manuals that aren’t clear/incorrect OR would hire someone to build it for you, I’d say the product is worth it. If not, you’re better off finding an IKEA product or somewhere else with better reviews. You decide for yourself if it’s worth it. ... show more

  • Cute, Sturdy, but don't buy if you can't follow picture directions.
Color: Black
I was a bit concerned buying this product because a lot of the reviews mentioned how incredibly difficult it was to assemble and how long it took. I'm only one lady and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to complete it myself. However it's fairly easy to assemble and follow the instructions as long as you pay very close attention. There's a lot of similar pieces that have holes either on the left or right side--intended to be either the left or right piece. The pictures very clearly show these holes so just be very careful and observant before picking up a piece and starting to screw stuff into it. Also, expect to own a drill because the holes for the drawer sliders are NOT pre drilled. A drill will also save you from getting carpal tunnel screwing in the 100s of screws on this thing. In total it took me about 2.5 hours to assemble, and I don't consider myself that handy. If you're buying this only because of the lights, my suggestion is: don't. Or if you do, be prepared to replace them with an LED strip. The lights on mine stopped working after a week. However I planned to replace them with a reactive LED strip anyway. Despite this, it looks super cute in my living room, and it shipped much quicker than I expected. I really enjoy it and I can't wait to add my new TV to it soon. It will look so cool when I add the reactive LEDs to it. ... show more

  • Tedious, but well worth it!
Color: White
Tedious, thats for sure. However, still do-able! It took me, alone, about 4-5 hours total to put together. The parts are mostly labeled, some I dont think had stickers labeling them, however its fairly easy to guess which part is which once you have most of them separated. The majority of the build is easy... until you get to the drawers. The drawers were seemingly pretty complicated for me so I only got one in and I think that was out of sheer luck. So, I opted to not mess around with the second one and leave it as an open space. Otherwise, everything else went together fairly well. Still, it was time consuming. But it looks great if you put the effort and time into putting it together! Also, this thing is HEAVY! So, if you're like me who tries to do everything by myself- maybe get a little help lifting it so you don't hurt yourself.. otherwise this is a great product worth the money! Its also good to note that this took quite a while to get to me. I think that may be because of the general Christmas rush, weather, etc. Who knows, but it came in good condition anyways! ... show more
