I usually don't like to write reviews but this seed planting kit is so cleverly designed I have to comment. I start my herb seeds every year about this time and it's a bit of a thrash. Whoever designed this kit knew what they were doing and thought of everything. I just finished setting it up and am impressed with how easy it was to set up and get it planted. Each 6-pack box has it's own little grow light and deep enough planting cells to insure drainage and yet have water below the chamber to keep the soil damp. All you need is planting soil, your seeds and a USB electrical plug. These tidy little grow boxes are sitting on my bathroom counter where I can easily check on them. ... show more

I wasn’t sure about these cell trays. I am using them for starting seeds and at first to be honest and I bought too many so I did a return and then as life would have it….I am rebuying them because I won’t start seeds without them now. Here’s my experience. 1. I am new to seed starting and gardening. After watching a lot of online videos, I tried other seed starting cells….but I Love Love Love these with the individual cells/trays/domes. I am starting seeds in the storage room of my lower level using wire shelves, heat mats and LED shop lights and I am all about keeping things easy and enjoyable. 2. When you have a normal 6 cell (compartment) it is recommended to put two seeds in a cell just in case one doesn’t take. I use this 12 tray so I don’t have to separate them later :) easy. 3. These small self contained starter trays eliminate the worry of germination time. I can plant groups of seeds and adjust their environment on a smaller scale instead of those large 10x20 pans. Plants are super happy. 4. I use less seed starter mix. 5. I can tailor watering needs to the needs of these individual trays since they come with their own water retention tray, this eliminates overwatering of companion cells in larger trays. It also makes sure all areas are watered since my shelves aren’t level. (Larger flats 10x20 can have dry spots if the shelves aren’t level. Easy 6. They take up less space until I am ready to pot-up. So they fit on heat mats and under lights perfectly. 7. They are super strong and durable. Wash and reuse! Easy 8. I can see the root growth of the seedlings, super helpful to know when to replant/transplant/pot-up. Easy 9. The clear tray also lets me monitor the water absorption of the seeds…I can easily dump out the excess water if I need to or add more if I need to. Easy. (Don’t have to dump a 10x20 tray after removing all the cells…not easy) 10. The vent holes are perfect for allowing some moisture to escape. Super helpful when I started lettuce since they don’t like the heat too much, but I closed them to germinate peppers, and everything else that likes it warm and cozy. Easy 12. Every plant I started in these, potted-up (transplanted to larger pots or cells )nicely. (Tip: buy seeds from a reputable online company… amazon has nice choices. 13. These starter trays have made my seed starting experience amazing and bountiful! You will see in the pics I planted on the 11th of January, not sure if I would kill things (maybe planted too soon) but the transplants look great and are going strong 11 days out! Love the trays, you won’t be sorry if you choose these in my opinion they are versatile and easy for me to accommodate the needs of the seeds. A happy girl playing in the dirt :) ... show more

The Bonviee 10 Pack Seed Starter Tray - received product as described, packaged well and new. I saw these on an Influencer's YouTube channel and had to give it a try. These are perfect for a beginner gardener and for small spaces. All plastic pieces are durable except for the clear cells which feels thin and flimsy. You have to be gentle with getting your seedlings out by squeezing the cells gently. The Bonviee brand is my favorite due to the design of the green tray, it has a little opening which makes it easier to take out the cell. Great for bottom watering and love the vents in the humidity domes. Overall a good product. I purchased another set for my mother. ... show more

It works if you are planting and leaving however if you move them from greenhouse to garden know that the tops do not snap on very well and fall open constantly when being moved/touched. We fixed this problem by taping the sides when moving but that can be annoying when watering and such. Overall, was ok product and does ok for cost. These Bonviee Seed Starter Trays have worked well for me but I got a bit of a late start with them. Actually after I received them, I forgot why I bought them because I already had Jiffy trays. I ran out of space in the Jiffy’s and so dug out these and then remembered that they came with the nifty grow lights. Since the weather already allowed for me to leave the trays outside, I didn’t need the grow lights. So, I’m saving them for next growing season. What I like about the Bonviee Seed Starter Trays is that the covers are more sturdy than the standard Jiffy trays which bend all which ways. And, best of all, the Bonviee Seed Starter Trays are made in 3 parts with a lid, seed tray AND a drip tray. The latter is a game changer. When my trays get left out in the rain, the Jiffy’s are very challenging to empty the rainwater. Not so with the Bonviee Seed Starter Trays which allow for easy draining by removing the seed tray from the drip tray. I recommend these. ... show more
