  • Comfortable and Adjustable
This is one of my favorite shoulder rests. I purchased this shoulder rest because it was recommended by one of my music teachers and honestly, it’s worth the prices, I first bought it for Violin, and it feel comfortable, the size was the same size and the material was perfect as well. Later on, I decided to buy another shoulder rest for my Viola. Worth every cent. ... show more

  • Adjustable, great support, better than Kun
I've used a Kun rest for many years and though it was the gold standard. After getting neck pain from holding the violin too tightly because it was slipping, I researched alternatives and saw the BonMusica. Happy I gave it a try because it has much better support than the Kun. It can adjust taller for people with longer necks. The curve over the shoulder helps hold the violin in place better. The only downside is it's a little larger than the Kun so may be a tight fit in some violin cases. ... show more

  • Extremely comfortable
I absolutely fell in love with this. It’s better than any shoulder rest I’ve ever tried and it’s so easy to make it conform to your body. I practiced for 2 hours pain free today because of this rest!

  • Bonmusica 4/4 violin shoulder rest is quite nice
This is the most comfortable shoulder rest I've ever used. It literally hooks onto my shoulder, providing much more stability. I like the flexibility of the device, which enables an even better fit. I'm still working on the perfect adjustment, and have augmented the piece that rests below the clavicle with a wedge of padded foam. It would be perfect if I could twist the flat bar a little to make it conform perfectly to my anatomy. The shoulder rest stays in place on the violin--a nice firm fit. I find it easier to play my violin using this shoulder rest. ... show more

  • Finally a shoulder rest that works
Keeps violin straight, no more tense arms or fighting to keep instrument from slipping. I am tall, have a long neck and (don't laugh) had chin fat removed for plastic surgery. Well, with that cushioning gone, the KUN shoulder rest didn't work anymore LOL. Takes a bit of adjusting just the piece is constructed to adapt to the individual's body. thanks so much ... show more

  • Game changing!
So Im a decent sized guy with very large shoulders and chest (ex-competitive bodybuilder sized just for reference) and couldnt find a shoulder rest that fit comfortably. They never sat properly and therefore the violin was always in a slightly different position and angle every time I picked it up which (as Im a relative beginner) made things rather difficult. This thing is so customizeable that with a little bit of time setting it up I was able to find a really nice, stable configuration. Now the violin rests comfortably and is always pretty much in the same position which is very helpful. To say that (for me) its worth the money is an understatement. Would highly recommend to anyone who isnt happy with the fixed position rests (which never worked for me, I tried 3 of them, all pretty much made for normally proportioned people I suppose) :) If there were one negative point, like if I really had to work to say something not positive it would be that this thing is so customizable that it definitely takes some time and trial and error to get it setup optimally however once you do its well worth the time spent! 5 stars only because more are not available! ... show more

  • An excellent rest!
This is an excellent shoulder rest! It has more adjustments and a greater range of adjustments than other rests. I needed the extra height that i can get with this rest, (not because I have a long neck, but because I am 6 ft 5" tall and my neck is to scale). Also, my violin tended to slide around to the front and down--which changed the angle of the bow to the strings, and led to string crossing problems. As a beginner--I really need a consistent violin position. The way that you can curve the top of the rest to the shape of your shoulder is really helpful! I did find that the very comfortable foam padding on the rest is not as well stuck as it should be . It comes loose and has to be pressed back into position. I can foresee a time when it will loose it's tack and no longer stick. I find that I CAN get this rest into my case. There have been complaints about this. Some people say that it will not fit in most cases. My case is a tapered case--shaped to the instrument--and does not have much room in it at all. With some experimenting and trial and error, I found that I can get it in next to the neck of the instrument. It does touch the neck--and with a more valuable instrument than mine you might want to wrap the rest in your violin cleaning cloth to prevent chafe. I am still fine tuning the rest as I learn more about what position suits me best. I am certain I will get it perfect! . ... show more

  • Best shoulder rest, to date!
I have been playing violin for 30 years. I play professionally. No shoulder rest has ever fit me the way this shoulder rest does. There are two parts to the shoulder rest & they can be BENT to conform to the shape of your shoulder. They are really stiff pieces of metal, so they cannot be bent so easily that they will lose form. Instead, they are very stiff metal pieces. They will keep their form while you play. Of course, you can also adjust the height of the shoulder rest. You can also adjust the ANGLE at which the two main metal pieces are aligned. I have been searching for a good shoulder rest for a long time. I saw that Hillary Hahn used a shoulder rest that flared out to sit on her shoulder - cupped her shoulder blade. I did some research & found out that she uses this one. Anyway, it is GREAT to have a shoulder rest that not only sits at the right spot, but also lends itself to being bent in such a way that it will curve to fit your shoulder EXACTLY. I have been using KUN for many years. I had to tie rubberbands around the feet so that it would not pop/slide off during performances. I learned how important it is to have an issue-free shoulder rest. The KUN pop/slid off of my violin during a solo. So I am thrilled that I have a superior replacement. ... show more
