When hip sliding while paintballing, these shorts feel like a cloud. I found that paintball-specific padding is either too thin or flattens over time. The padding here looks bulky but it's perfect and doesn't impact movement.

    • Not for Derby, but will work for snow sports
I returned this item. It is not a versatile pant for derby -- way too bulky. I would use for biking or skateboarding either. However, I would use these for skiing or snowboarding. 3 stars because these are very ugly and bulky.

    • Works great
Great for skateboarding/snowboarding. I used to get bruises on my butt/side thigh from falls at the skate park. This cushions the slams so that the pain is reduced (depending on your fall it will still hurt, but less) and definitely less bruising. It would be better if the tail cushion was wider.

    • Thick padding, and removable
Using this for SCA battles -- the inserts are removable, which is nice. I removed the tailbone one because it wasn't needed. Pretty breathable, form fitting, doesnt limit motion much. The goal was to avoid leg bruising from hits, and it does that pretty well.

I baby my equipment so it should last. The sizing was good, fit perfect under my snowboarding pants, bulky and lots of padding.. did the job... couldnt feel anything when i fell
