This my second press from Bodum (first one took an unfortunate dive off the kitchen counter while it was out of the metal case; lasted for 3 years before it decided to test gravity). These are easy to clean and retain the heat of the water pretty well (I think the metal or insulated versions may stay warm longer). This size makes about 1 large "cup" in the American style, and a little over 2 cups really -- it all depends on the amount of grounds you use. If you like a stronger cup of coffee, you might not have as much room for water. It's perfect if you enjoy fresh coffee, I do not like to drink coffee that has sat in a heated pot all day. I love the design of the metal holder for this particular press, its simple and elegant. It does get hot to the touch, so you will need to use the insulated handle. I bought this as a replacement for my first Bodum coffee maker. The handle broke on it, and I noticed this one was the same model, but with a much sturdier handle. I don't drink a lot of coffee, but when I do, I want a cup that tastes great, and this one delivers. I bought a pair of these and broke one of the glass carafe parts about the third time I used them. The glass is extremely fragile. But the cut is almost healed! Seriously, I only gave it two stars because they do make pretty good coffee. otherwise it would have been a one-star review.

This makes the best coffee for almost any coffee drink. Just add 2-3 tablespoons of your favorite coffee and mix in 10-12 oz boiling water. Steep 4 min. Press. Add desired amount to hot milk and voila! If you actually boil or scald the milk before adding the pressed coffee, you will taste the traditional Puerto Rican café con leche! Yummy! Pay carefull attention to the liter size. with the air space you have to leave at the top this will not make more than one small cup of coffe at a time. for the price it is a rip off, as the daily deal it was still a waste of money. i should have returned it, but figure it is too late now. i saw one at Starbucks that actually made 3 CUPS of coffee for the same price. do not buy unless you want an espresso maker. ... show more
