  • Good anchor for your kayak
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Green
Kit comes nicely packaged in a carry bag and is almost exactly what I was looking for in regards to rigging an actor onto a kayak. The anchor itself has a nice coated finish that will ding up over time, but at least provides a level of protection. The anchor "paws" are deployed from sliding a slip collar up the shaft and they can then fall over. The kit includes a nice clip for hooking onto a rigging point on your vessel. I prefer to use a cleat for quick detach reasons if under tension. But I will still find a good use for the clip. The only disappointing part of the kit is the bouy. I would prefer a buoy that slides up and down the rope while this one is secured into the line by some loops making it a very timely thing to move the buoy. The buoy is also a hard plastic that I am a bit pessimistic for holding up over time. I use my anchor in the river with faster moving water. I actually recommend moving the fasten point of the anchor to the other side so when the anchor is pulled up and if the paws are deployed they close preventing snags. In water that is actually flowing, I tend to not reply the paws anyhow to minimize the potential for hanging up and current causing various issues. Overall not a bad kit at all, a few tweaks and it will last most people many years. ... show more

  • A game changer
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Orange
This review is for the Linkloos Boat Kayak Anchor Kit (40ft Rope) - Orange I've been kayaking for years, and it has always been a bit of a frustrating experience when you want to pause for a break (lunch, snack, rest) and end up floating away with the current. Typically, I have to search for a small alcove or something to move into where I can hang out without floating off. This is especially true when kayaking with another person, as we often rely on each other to retrieve things out of the backs of our 14' kayaks. I also have a small fishing kayak and it's nearly impossible to fish from when you have to constantly readjust. This anchor is EXACTLY what I needed. At just 3.5lbs, it feels heavy but really does not add that much weight to your boat. In fact, it will fit behind my seat. I love that it's coated carbon steel that should not rust quickly. The design of the anchor is like a grappling hook so it can easily fold up but then open to snag the bottom when you wish to stay put. The anchor kit comes with everything you need, too -- a 40ft rope for both deep and shallow water use, as well as a stainless steel fixed snap hook and PP buoy. I can't think of anywhere I kayak where this will not do the trick. This anchor is really well-designed for any small craft use. Finally, I will say that I RARELY kayak in the ocean. However, the ONLY claim for this anchor that I question (or am curious about) is the 'Anti-shark Orange' claim. Night use? Sure. But due to its rarity underwater, the color orange actually acts as a signal to a shark. It contrasts sharply with the surrounding environment, making it easy for sharks to spot. From an online article, "Their attraction to orange isn’t the color but its standout nature against the typical aquatic backdrop. While many colors fade or morph with depth, orange remains relatively consistent. It retains visibility even as one descends further. This constant visibility makes objects or individuals sporting the color particularly noticeable." In other words -- it could actually ATTRACT sharks. But since I kayak mostly in fresh water lakes and rivers, orange is great and this kayak will absolutely make my adventures more enjoyable. AND it's a great value. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Stop drifting
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Orange
New to fishing from a small raft on a large lake, my first time I got so carried away with my casting, I didn’t notice I was getting blown further and further away from the jetty start point. No problem I hear you say, just motor back to the jetty and get your anchor. I didn’t have a motor (only oars) to row into the wind with! And no anchor. I bought one straight after and the next time out I was in control of my craft. But I didn’t use it for a while after that and so gave it to a friend. But months later I wanted to do more raft fishing so ordered this anchor. Perfect in every way: small form, light and folds into itself for storage. 40 feet of line and a buoy. Looking at all the weight involved in me, my craft and all the fishing gear I haul, it’s incredible that 3.5lbs of anchor can serve me so well. But it works great and I haven’t snagged it yet, though I appreciate one reviewers tip of having a zip tie take the strain and bust when snagged in order for the anchor to be pulled out backwards. Clever. Recommended for all small craft such as kayaks, rafts, canoes, SUPs…. I hope you found this feedback helpful 👇 ... show more

  • Good for paddleboard
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Green
This anchor is small enough for me to carry in my backpack and use with my inflatable paddleboard. I like to do paddleboard yoga, and you really need to be anchored and not float away. I’m not sure I would use this if it is really wavy in an area or super strong current, but this is super easy to use in my cove at the lake where there is just a slight current. This works for me. Some pluses with this anchor is the multiple spokes with concave tips to grab at the bottom of the lake better. I’m glad it comes in a carrying case that is very durable with a drawstring and not thin material. Other competitors have their anchor bags too thin. Another plus is the nylon rope is already attached. Finally the biggest plus is there is a yellow float on the end with the stainless steel clip so it slips out of my hand or off my board, I don’t lose it to the bottom of the lake forever. I love the bright green color too. Easy to spot in the lake water when bringing it up. For my cove at the lake where there is just a slight current this works for me. ... show more
