  • Nice big bumper
Style Name: 1 Pack
This is a nice big bumper which will buffer reasonable impact when a boat contacts a dock. The mold is not perfect and this one had a bulge that I don't think is supposed to be there, right where the bumper fits under the side rail. It does not seem to have much impact to its performance, but I am pretty sure it is a manufacturing defect. The description says it is for docking only. I would clarify that by saying it appears to be engineered to take a direct compression impact and not a swiping motion or rubbing on the side as the boat moves along a lock. It will work best if it is on the front and you are fronting in. Not sure it is worth the money. ... show more

  • Fits My Pontoon but Questionable Protection
Style Name: 1 Pack
I have a pontoon so was excited to try this out. Upon receiving, the unit has some air but pretty flat. I tried to add air via a battery-operated (slow) inflator so I can get the PSI reading. When I felt the air already bloating the unit , the PSI reading still was at 0 PSI but the the notch was already deformed and won't grip under the platform rail. I also feel the weak spots inside the notch area where the rubber skin was very thin, and also leaking air (see picture). So I returned it for a replacement. The replacement unit also can't be pumped to non-zero PSI without bloating it out of shape. So I released most of the pumped air in order for it to grip the rail, as seen in the pictures. Also when I run through the inner corner of the rail notch, I still feel unevenness in thickness and couple of places feel real thin and might leak air if I press too hard. Despite the lack of air, I think the thick rubber will provide some protection. But I don't really have confidence that it can practically provide sufficient bounce-off protection at higher impact like other high air-filled fenders, say, when hitting the dock or boat at 3 mph. I'm also pretty sure given the weakness inside the grip (first one leaked air and second one is still thin), that even if I pumped to 1 PSI, it might easily POP due to a finger-felt weakness on the inside of the rail gripping rubber skin. Regarding to the novel design of notching under the pontoon platform rail, conceptually it sounded great, and it grips fine with very little air. But just adding a bit of air but still can be hand-squeezed, gripping gets harder without high force pull and tightly secure the rope. Anyway, I'm not gonna try to ram my boat to my dock to test whether if this product is strong enough to bounce off, with or without additional air, or whether it will pop from the weak spots. I personally will still go with the tried and true round, strongly air-pumped round boat fenders for protection. ... show more

  • Hoping this will work with our 22' bowrider. Very thick and durable.
Style Name: 1 Pack
This bumper is designed with a notch to fit over the metal side rail on a pontoon boat, but I saw no reason why it can't be used on other boats. We have a 22' Four Winns bowrider and there are no rails like you see in the photos. The bumper/fender is much bigger and heavier than I anticipated - very solid, thick plastic. Nonetheless, there is a grip hole to attach a rope to the bumper, and that's all you need to use it with just about any boat. The seller describes the bumper/fender as inflatable, and honestly, I didn’t immediately see the hole for the inflation pin from a hand pump. But it’s there and if you want to pump it up, you will need to find a pump and the kind of needle used for a soccer ball or basketball. Out-of-the-box, it feels like it's ready to be used. ... show more

  • Really wanted to love this bumper, but not for my boat
Style Name: 1 Pack
This bumper is a great concept for what I believe would be most pontoons. Mine, however, has a curved aluminum run that goes from front to back between the outer toons and edge of the platform. This bumper works by being able to grab under the aluminum edge to help keep it in place. It works on mine, but that aluminum runner, meant to keep water off the bottom side of the floor, really keeps it from being great. In summary, for most, this thing will be awesome. Just be aware if there's not a great spot for the back of the bumper to grip under. ... show more

  • Great
Style Name: 1 Pack
I forgot to take a picture after installing, but it fits my 20+ year old Bentley (it's a pontoon boat not a car, I promise). It fits it perfectly, and the way it lands provides more protection than my old fashioned buoys that are just freely dangling. I see some other complaints in the comments, but I guess I got a good one. My complaint is just that: it's JUST ONE fender. ... show more

  • Deception description, only one Fender.
Style Name: 1 Pack
I was surprised to find only one fender when I opened the box. The description uses Plural forms of Fenders and Bumpers at least 2/3's of the time. Even Amazon's A.I., "Rufus", thinks their is more than one Fender. All three reference questions by Rufus use the term, "...these fenders..." The poor description is the biggest reason by far for the three stars, I am tempted to give it two combined with the fact it is so thick and bulky, however it's thickness it is the description and that is on me. Otherwise the Fender is very thick material and heavy duty. It is inflatable. I wish it was taller above the clip lind as we have a stationary dock and our water level varies. We need more protection above the deck line versus below it. Also, the depth pushes the boat out more than we like for safety reasons. That's a big gap between the boat and the dock. A foot trap if someone isn't paying attention. ... show more

  • Well Made!
Style Name: 1 Pack
This bumper is made of very heavy rubber and looks to be built to last. The inflating hole is on the front and is easy to find. Adding air is the same process as a basketball or football. This one needs a little inflation out of the box, but it was simple. The design is perfect for most pontoons and bumper will do what it is designed for. My only gripe with it is the description of this item makes the reader (at least me) think there are two. It refers to it in the plural in more than half of the bullet points. So, I was expecting there to be two in the box. There is ONE! ... show more
