  • Super Cover Supports, for Boat, Snowmobile, or other needs
Size: 2 PK
These are VERY GOOD cover supports! I really like the heavy square (with round corners) metal plate bottom with black foam on the bottom. These provide good support and help keep the poles from moving and from falling over. The strong steel poles are attached to the plate with a special bolt fitted to the oval hole. However, the pole can only be bolted on finger-tight (or only by hand, no meaningful way to use a tool). There is also no washer – split or star – supplied, and even if you add one, it might not fit. I notice that without the washer that the pole can become loose over time. The top plastic ‘mushroom caps’ are nice and heavy, and don’t deform easily. The pole top has a threaded hole [the same size as the bottom pole] but there is no hole in the cap to attach with a screw. Not really an issue as the weight of the tarp or cover should keep the caps pressed into place on the poles. In addition to supporting the cover on my boat, I plan to use these during the winter, when the boat is in storage, to hold a tarp over my snowmobiles. I can place the supports between the two snowmobiles and form a tent shape so the rain and snow can roll off. Otherwise the tarp would sag between the sleds and form a valley where the snow, ice, and water accumulate. In either use, the poles can be supported by running guy lines or ropes from the holes in the cap down to the floor or trailer side. As strong as these support poles are in compression, they likely would be happy to get bent over something while having a large load of snow. With only minor issues, I feel good about giving these poles all 5 stars. ... show more

  • Good strong product
Size: 2 PK
This product comes with everything necessary to support a boat cover. Of course, if you have a larger boat you may require additional support poles. Keep in mind, that one size does not fit all. My boat is a 17' bass boat to offer some perspective. I used a two-pole system this past winter and it worked very well. We had a ton of rain to deal with, I had no problems. The base for each pole is just under 12"X12" and weighs less than one pound. That is heavy enough to stay put and light enough to move and adjust if needed. I would point out there are a lot of pole systems offered here on Amazon. The 12"X12" base with this product I feel, offers better stability. Set it and forget it. I like the foam-type pad sprayed on the bottom of the base. This will protect the flooring and minimize movement should a gust of wind hit the cover hard. Each pole extends from roughly two feet to around 5 1/2 feet and consists of three sections. Each section is equipped with a twist lock system that will allow for proper height adjustment as needed. The twist lock is secure when firmly in place. For each pole base, a screw is provided to mount the pole and base together. Two mushroom caps are included for the pole top. These are heavy nylon. With proper handling last a long time. The instructions are about 2 paragraphs. They are written well and easy enough to understand. In that short space, the entire system is explained and explained well. If not in use, this system can be broken down and stored out of the way. I can confidently recommend this as a reliable strong system to support most boat covers. ... show more

  • Not bad
Size: 2 PK
This is actually my 2nd set - m very much by accident, and my 1st set was horrible, the extension would not lock in place. However, this set works very well. I can twist both section on them into a solid lock position...as long you you extended a few inches (3-4) up. And they hold I can lean on them with most of my 200lbs and they stay put. I do like the weight and overall size of the bases, keep them in place when dragging a cover over the boat. ... show more

  • Far better than what I have been using!
Size: 2 PK
So we just have a little 185 ski boat, but I need to winterize it here in Seattle, and I also need to keep it outside during the winter, all covered up snug as a bug. We get our share of rain here of course, but snow is always an issue a few days every winter, and the last thing you ever want is to have ANY droopage in the tarp from the weight of any pooling water - that would be bad. So in the past I have always just used two poles that were the correct length, and by cutting a couple holes in a couple of tennis balls, I could slip the top of the poles into the tennis balls, and then once I'd prop those two poles under the tarps with the tennis balls against the tarp in the perfect spots to keep the tarps tented up, I was good. Now, I just use these. Now I'm one of the cool kids. ... show more

  • WAY Better Than Aluminum Poles!
Size: 2 PK
These were order as replacements for a set of aluminum cover support poles that failed from a snow load last winter. These are much sturdier, with a large heavy base for better stability. We had a heavy rain yesterday after I installed them, and I had no ponding of water in the rear corners of my cover, as I did with my previous aluminum poles, as I was able to secure the cover tighter. ... show more

  • Well worth the money
Size: 2 PK
If you have a boat and don't have these eventually you will have problems. These are designed for mooring covers, standard covers or any cover for that fact. When it rains, it weighs down you cover which in turn will eventually leak into your boat. This allows the cover to have a cone and run the water off the boat. The quality was excellent and they're adjustable for most sizes. The base is super big which they are normally not and they are even weighted so they don't easily move. This is a great buy and will save you money if you have a boat. ... show more
