This is a very well built anchor screw that is made from very strong stainless. All stainless steel so it will not rust and the welds are very nice looking on the screw section. The screw comes in 2 pieces and that is my only complaint the 2 sections the pin that locks them together can be difficult to push in without a tool. The pin is very strong and difficult to push with your bare hand. Handle has a nice cushion and is easy to slide in the ring and screw into soft soil. If you are trying to screw this on land it will have a difficult time in very dry hard soil. It can be done but not easy. Comes with a nice carrying bag for storage. ... show more

This boat anchor is heavy duty, and came with the crossbar to use to drill the spike into the ground. We are using this to anchor a heavy pontoon to the shore, so it doesn't float away from where we want it. We had no problems driving it down into the ground far enough to hold securely. The ring on the top serves 2 purposes - one to use the bar to get the anchor in or out of the ground, and two to tie off the line holding the boat or pontoon, etc. It has a storage bag, which would be useful if we were canoeing, or taking the boat out on the lake and wanted to moor off somewhere. This is made of quality, heavy, and solid metal. It comes in 3 pieces and is easy to transport. The point is nice and sharp so it can easily go into the ground for a solid anchor. Just a heads up on the push button that allows you to connect the two pieces…You may need a small tool to help push it back down to separate it since it sits flush with the hole and is hard to push down all the way if you have bigger fingers. I kayak a lot and on sand bars or shallow water with fast currents, my grapnel style anchor never held my boat in place. It would always drift. I decided to give this anchor a shot and it is fantastic! Easy to auger into the sand, holds my kayak along with my friend's yak in place, and is really high quality. I recently capsized my kayak and lost the straight bar portion of the anchor and when I contacted Sand Shark, the offered to ship me one free of charge. At 30 bucks, it might be a good deal except for the fact that the button to put the 2 pieces together does not lineup. It will require some drilling to make it useful. The metal seems to be high quality and it would have gotten 5 stars, I think, if it had worked properly. With the button not lining up, I cannot give it 5 stars. ... show more

Big, nasty screw. Well enough built but not really the best cosmetically, but that's not what you buy it for. No issues assembling, but you'll need something to poke the button in to take it back apart. The shaft is quite thick, so it will depend on the consistency of your dirt/sand/mud as to how well or poorly this will penetrate and hold. The handle used to screw it in works well enough, but is kind of clumsy since there is nothing to keep it centered, or even in the eyelet. A good, useful anchor, just not the best implemented.
