I had hesitations as amazon said it didnt fit and there was a comment about making mods to make it fit. But i didnt have to at all. Its actually easier than the provided installation video, no adjustments needed. The instruction manual wasnt really needed but will help u install faster than trying to just figure it out.     • I just can't get rid of the whistling noise!
In my opinion, Thule and BMW failed with this roof rack. Although it has an attractive appearance and is simple to install, the excessive wind noise and whistling is intolerable. When driving between 38-45 mph, the roof rack produces a whistling sound, which I discovered is a widespread issue after conducting research online. Despite spending several months experimenting with different solutions, I was unable to eliminate the whistling noise, only changed the speed zone that made the noise. ... show more

Easy to install (twenty minutes) and looked great. OEM, obviously made for the X7. Fits my new Thule Motion XT XL perfectly which also only took about twenty minutes to install. Enough clearance to open the sunroof.

I finally got my “original” BmW x7 rack bars, I was so disappointed to see small dents on the bars, as I was In a hurry I didn’t replace those, I also found in the internet that I’m not the only one and people get to replace the bars multiple times until they get them right, I hoped that the “original” bars will be good, unfortunately it’s not the case. If you have time, order the bars much earlier then you plan a trip so that you have the opportunity to replace those. I did install those on my car - did not have any issue putting those on, need to go through the book to find where from you measure 485m to install the first bar. ... show more
