Received the tablets yesterday and used one last night in the dishwasher. This morning, when I opened the dishwasher, the first thing I noticed was no funky smell! We've used the "classic" blue tab with the red ball on it for decades. The dishwasher always had a weird kind of smell after each cycle. Not a sewage smell but more leaning towards Eau de Porta-potty. We live as fragrance free as we can and when it came time to restock dishwasher tabs, all the options were highly scented, and the store did not have the "classic" version we've used for years. I bought what I thought was the closest but the scent was so strong, even through the big blue plastic jug. It's sitting in my garage waiting to take back to the store. So I looked here and took a chance. Best decision ever! The dishes are clean and the stemless wine glasses came out beautifully! That's the real test, right? Clean glasses. But the biggest surprise was there wasn't the Porta-potty smell. In fact, there was no smell at all! This is huge to me! My nose is so sensitive that after being out in public, I immediately change out of the clothes I wore and put them in the dirty clothes. That residue of scented laundry products always smells like Porta-potty once I get home to a fragrance free home. We live in a forest where loads of forest animals and birds come to eat. These natural pods actually clean your dishes well. I've used a few different brands in an effort to limit the harmful ingredients in most products. Most don't clean well but these are surprisingly productive little pods. They also leave almost no smell. Very clear dishes as well. Oh my gosh!! Love this product!! Made my dishes so shiny no streaks no plastic coating just a tablet that you place in dishwasher!! Even tackled some baked on food on my glass baking dish!! It is pretty good and feel clean to use it. But sometimes some dashes not cleaned. So not sure exactly about performance. Still prefer to use than other brands as this is less toxic!

I like the product and will continue using it. My dishes and dishwasher are clean and don’t have any soapy film or stains. I know that some reviewers mention residue, and I am wondering why it is different for them. Maybe it’s because of the dishwasher cycle? I always use the hot cycle with normal water pressure. The detergent doesn’t remove coffee stains, but I haven’t found one that does. I always pre-scrub my coffee mugs before I load them into a dishwasher. I also have to mention the cute metal container that you refill with new tablets that arrive in a recyclable paper package. ... show more

I was looking forward to using a "green" dishwasher pod. I love the small size, the lack of plastic and how easily the container fits under my sink. Yes, these are scent-free pods (and I hate the chemical smells of larger brand pods,) but when I open my dishwasher after a cycle using Blueland, the dish washer smells funky. Like it needs to be cleaned. Except it is brand new. Each time I use a Blueland pod, I find food residue left on some plates. We have food allergies in our house, so that doesn't work for me. My wife and I are very much interested in using cleaning products that are as environmentally-friendly as possible. However, they need to accomplish the basic task they are designed for. Enter Blueland. We like that it doesn't have plastic and that it doesn't make my kitchen smell like melting tires during a wash cycle (unlike a number of other eco- and conventional detergents. However, we don't like that maybe only 1 in 4 loads we run comes out clean in our very nice Bosch dishwasher that has no trouble with other detergents made by Dropps, Cascade, and Finish. We often find coffee still staining the bottom of our coffee mugs after a cycle, and for some strange reason find bits of dried food stuck all over the outside of our dishes. We never had this problem with other detergents--and have been cycling through these Dropps and Cascade Free & Clear every wash for the last two months. We do not have problems with the tablets not dissolving as others have mentioned. They always dissolve. They are a little damaged in the package. (Maybe 2 are broken). Needless to say, we'll not be using Blueland in the long term. They just don't get the job done. ... show more
