  • Chair is okay and Seller's return policy is the worst
Very thin cushion for back and side flaps not comfortable when lying at an angle. Most importantly my legs doesn't fully reach the ground and I'm an average 5-5" person. When I asked for return, seller won't pay for shipping, it's self-ship!!! So I'm stuck with useless piece for a small refund or returning it for a huge shipping fee!! And this is what seller says in the product description - "★EXCELLENT AFTER-SALES SERVICE: Money back for any reason within 30 days. Any dissatisfaction with our products or service, please feel free to contact us." But the service I got is the worst ever!! ... show more

  • BMA (Big Man Approved)
This chair was simple to put together even with one person and no tools but the included T wrench. Once I stopped watching tv and paid attention it was done in 20 mins. If you put it together with all the bolts a bit loose so every thing lines up, then go back and super tighten everything, it ends up very sturdy. I'm surprised at how quality it feels, I was expecting it to be kind of junky and thought it would just be a temporary use chair for me. Nope, all 309 of my gloriously handsome pounds fit comfortably into this chair. Recline is strong and it will put you to sleep. I love the looks, like a sports car seat. I will spend most of this Sunday playing Star Wars Fallen Order while sitting in this great chair. The fold out foot rest is a bit too flimsy to be useful but its really not needed. I may remove mine permanently to make the chair a bit lighter to move about. If you're a big dude and are skeptical about the chair, no worries man, get it. *Also, if using the the hand wrench included to assemble the chair rather than power driver, let me suggest you wear the INCLUDED KillaBee gloves with a grippy texture on the palms. Yup. Makes tightening those bolts way more comfortable. ... show more

  • Disappointed and in pain
I had such high hopes for the Blue Whale Massage Gaming Chair, but it turned out to be a massive disappointment. I bought this several months ago to use as a desk chair for working full-time at home, and already need to replace it. Initially it was great – easy to assemble, comfy, sturdy. The back was solid and supportive. Then I tried reclining it for the first time after a week or two, and when I sat back up, the tilt lock would not lock the backrest fully upright at a 90° angle…it’s more like a 105° angle, so the second you put any weight on the backrest, it leans back a few inches. I tightened every screw, tried different tilt tensions, etc. nothing fixed this and it has gotten worse over time. This might not seem like a big deal, and if you’re planning on using the chair for gaming while leaning back then it might be fine. But for me, and using it as an office chair, lack of back support is a deal-breaker. The faulty tilt lock makes my body either flex my lower back to sit back solidly against the backrest or use my abs to sit upright without support. I already have chronic back and neck pain. So, I’ve been uncomfortable for months but just trying to make it work. A few weeks ago, I hit a breaking point when the terrible support of the chair gave me muscle strains and soreness from overuse throughout my abs, groin, lower back, and radiating down into my hip-flexors. My pain got really intense despite all my attempts to modify the chair or improve my sitting posture, lasted for two weeks and would not heal because I had to keep sitting in the stupid chair. In conclusion, I’m so done with this chair and have to buy a different one. Here are my pros and cons if you’re still interested in buying this chair… Pros: - Wide seat is accommodating for big booties. - Arm rests are adjustable up and down and pivot side to side, which is great for when I sit cross-legged, or tuck one leg up. - It goes down low enough for my short legs to reach the ground. - Footrest is cool (turns out I really don’t use it, but the concept is nice). - Head pillow is comfy. - It reclines back far. - Affordable…but you get what you pay for. Cons: - Well, it broke and caused me a lot of pain. - Backrest does not lock in the various reclined angles. If you want to recline partially, you can either have the tension really tight and push back against it or have looser tension and use your abs to hold yourself up from reclining all the way back. Either way, it’s not very relaxing or practical. - Lumbar pillow really isn’t supportive…it just pushes my lower back forward. On the plus side, you can move it up and down, so I often move it to my middle or upper back instead. - Massage function is a gimmick and it is NOT the adjustable lumbar pillow pictured – it is actually a separate, unattached pillow that you just put where you want without anything to secure it. The vibration is usually more distracting than helpful for my back pain. - The seat and backrest do not adjust forward and back which would shorten the distance between the backrest and the edge of the seat. As it is, the seat is too long for my legs (I’m 5’5” with short legs/long torso). ... show more

  • Comfortable, but will it last?
I sit at my desk for hours at a stretch. I'm taller and heavier than average, so comfort and durability were key. It took forever to ship the chair during the pandemic and it arrived in a single large heavy box. Assembly we pretty straightforward and the manufacturer provided all the tools I needed. The only trouble I had was fitting the plastic covers over the reclining hinges--they were a little difficult to line up properly and screw in place. In use, I love the fact that it reclines as well as tilts. In support, it reminds me of quality bucket seats you'd find in a sports car. The reclining lever is easy to reach and operate (though I would sometimes wish for finer control of the positions). Likewise, the armrest heights are easy to set. Reaching underneath the chair to adjust the tilt mechanism is a yoga pose I can't hold for long, so I pretty much leave that as it is. The massaging cushion and headrest were immediately put on a shelf and I haven't touched them since. Both are rock hard and uncomfortable to use. The massage feature is a mild vibration and requires a usb cord hooked to a power supply, like a computer, which is a hazard at best. The slide out footrest is a joke. It's too short for anyone except perhaps a small child, and it tends to unbalance the chair if you try to contort yourself to fit on it. I haven't touched it since it was installed a month ago. Underneath, I was disheartened to see that this chair is put together like every other cheap office chair on the market. It has a small central hydraulic cylinder. One end locks into the base, the other slips into the frame of the chair. I've had a dozen chairs like these, and this is the mechanism that always fails. (Even chairs designed for big and tall people are under-engineered in this regard.) Either the cylinder begins to leak (and the chair won't hold its height) or the seat begins to tilt as the joints underneath wear and the chair rocks from side to side. I can already feel some looseness in the seat (which i find super aggravating) and suspect that the chair will be completely unusable just about the time the warranty expires. ... show more
