  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Vicker Blue Force Gear or Ferro Concepts Slingster??
I was seriously at a toss up between the blue Force Gear and the Ferro Concepts Slingster. I ended up deciding to just buy both and return the one I didn't like. It turns out I just liked the Ferro Concepts a lot. But, I loved the Blue Force Gear. The Ferro Concepts has metallic hardware and this silicone type of notch to adjust the length of the sling. When. You want to allow more slack into the sling to loosen it you have to open up the silicone device and you actually have to pull. When your rifle is slung you basically need to pull with your shoulder to allow more slack. The blue Force Gear on the other hand has a nylon tab. All you have to do is grab the tab push to tighten and pull the tab to loosen. It is much easier then the Ferro Concepts. I really thought I would like the Ferro Concepts more but I think it's just the cool factor and fancy logos. The blue Force Gear has thicker nylon all over. The Ferro Concepts was a thin almost ribbon like nylon. The pad is not as padded as the blue Force. Overall the blue Force felt more ... Rugged. It felt like it was tougher thicker material, thicker padding and easier to use. I love the blue Force Gear and it's going to be the sling to go on just about any rifle I'll ever own. There also seems to be more adjustability. The polymer hardware honestly feels just as strong and tough as any other metallic or aluminum material. I highly recommend it and think especially if this is going to be a duty/patrol and definitely military use this will definitely live up to your expectations and do the job you want it to do. In all my years active duty army (10) and on patrol as an officer (3y) I wish I had invested in this sooner. This is definitely built as a tough sling for tough jobs. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Quality but a little pricey. Waiting on a new one.
The sling itself seems to be very well made. They could stand to add a little more foam in the tubular webbing, but from what I can tell it should relatively comfortable. The only real negative I have at the moment is that it is a little over priced considering the actual cost of the materials and general low labor involved in construction. That being said, most well-known brands seem to be charging a comparable price. I ordered a used unit via Amazon Warehouse. I usually have pretty good luck with used items from Amazon. However, the sling I recieved was completely missing the adjustment slider. I issued a return, but I liked the quality enough to go ahead and order a new one. I'll update once I recieve a complete product. UPDATE: The new sling I recieved was complete. Adjustment strap works relatively well and the sling overall is pretty comfortable. There is a bit of excess webbing after sizing it to fit my body, but not so much that it can't be mannaged. Would like to see some clips or sleeves included at this price though. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality and price
I am what one would call a penny pincher and I don’t like to spend money and not get good value for what I spend. I own a couple other slings and this one is hands down better quality and comfort than the lower priced ones that are thinner. The other ones I own are the para cord type with the quick adjust similar to this Vickers but the para cord is a bit rough on the shoulder and the rest is much thinner material. This Vickers one is built to last. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Padded version is too long
This is a very high quality sling. I bought this after buying the unloaded version. Built a 308 AR and figured the padding might help with the weight. Ended up returning this one to buy another u padded one. Due the the extra length the padding adds you can’t get it tight enough to use properly. Additionally when tightened as much as possible it creates a pressure point with the 2 plastic gliders forward if the pad. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Prefer this over VTac
Based on forum threads and online reviews, I had previously made the decision to buy the VTac over this and was unfortunately disappointed by it. The strap location was not convenient for me (my lack of shoulder mobility made the strap adjuster difficult to reach), and the whole set up just felt awkward. The BFG sling feels much nicer than the VTac in terms of ergonomics (at least for me), and the quality of materials feel objectively better than the VTac, especially the padding. Also, it just looks great. If you are like me and have a wider frame and not the most flexible shoulders, you might like the BFG over the VTac. ... show more
