My chihuahua is older and has lost almost all of his teeth. We tried several pates from different brands and these have been the only ones he will actually eat.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with this food, this product just didn't work for my dog. I have a pup who has become really finicky. I have been trying to find food he will eat right away without drama (he will not eat unless and until another dog or a cat shows interest in or starts eating his food). In fairness the other dogs seem to enjoy it when they get to it. He is my only little dog, so although these small sized portions are the perfect size for him, they are too small to be economically feasible for my bigger dogs. They seem to be on the more expensive side, but it may be consistent with other small portion wet dog food sold. I do not know. If he would eat this food like a normal dog, it would be worth it. I am not giving it 5 stars bc it did not work for me and my dog (either flavor I bought) , and it being a bit pricey. ... show more

The food is more of a topper not a standalone meal as included in the description. It would be a great meal for a toothless dog, completely soft all the way through, no chunks, just pure pate.
