I ended up buying the bright type of coffee. It is very light I think next time I’ll go a little higher in the caffeine level. If you want it to be a little stronger, you have to use a little more of this particular type.

I purchased a bag of the "Balanced" roast which is said to be medium/light. The flavor was more medium/dark. I don't like dark roasted coffee, so this was kind of a letdown. I didn't think to save the bag to check the date, but the coffee also tastes bitter and stale to me. The beans themselves seem to be of questionable quality, as there are many broken pieces in the bag. Maybe I got the bottom of the batch. This is not the worst coffee I've tasted, but it most certainly is the the best. I really hate being wasteful, but I am literally having a difficult time finishing the bag. I'm considering dumping the rest and moving on to my preferred brand, which costs about the same. It is rare that I write a bad review, but I feel this needed to be said. ... show more

I love Blue Bottle Coffee. If you have ever visited one of their cafes, you likely have drank the kool-aid. The cafes are chic, the baristas are the experts in the field, and the final part of the experience is the coffee which is the most smooth coffee you’ll ever taste. Being able to have Blue Bottle espresso at the start of the day is the best way to start your day. 5/5 stars ... show more

Blue bottle used to have great intense flavorful coffee.Not anymore apparently cause I had one cup and threw the whole bag in the trash.It tastes exactly like gas station coffee
