blu G9 Pro 128GB Dec. 2020
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
Got this blu phone on the 29 of Dec. Moved the SIM card to it from old phone to this one, Tracfone with ATT service, so far it doing okay but still early for complete review. Really just though I would pass on some info that I have found out.. I had read here that someone had issue with theirs not ta
king a 128 micro sd card but did with a 64 sd card. I put in a cheap 128 sd card and it seams to be working fine. I think they may of had the wrong phone a blu G9 and not the Pro version. Read on the reviews to make sure you received the correct phone.. I looked at the entire box made sure was correct. Thanks for the tip and a good idea. NOTE: So you know... There is a thin ( Clear ) protector screen on the phone already UNDER the top Printed On cover that you peel off. There is a glass type protector included in the bottom of the box, that you can put on, I have not yet put it on.. Im sure that you should remove the thin plastic one on the phone before putting on the glass type one. If your not going to put the glass one on right away. The thin plastic one is the kind you can get lots of bubbles under, so dont peel it up much if your checking it out, unless you like bubbles or going to replace it. Also read on here that the close apps screen only closes all the apps you have open and not just the one you want. It shows the X under the app and click it will close all the open apps you are using at the time, like say 4 apps running, you only want to close 2 of the apps, not all 4.. my old phone had Xs at the top right of each app to click on to close each or one at bottom to close all, this one though I found out by just trying stuff.. there is no X at the top, you will need to swipe the app you want to close up toward top of phone, and it will be removed from the remaining open apps. Hope this helps.. Will add more later after more time to use it.

I bought this phone months ago when the price was a little cheaper out of desperation because my Pixel got busted. I have to say I was surprised by this phone and I am still using it as my main phone and writing this review on it. For what you get for the price it gets the job done. Its not going to
be perfect like the usual flagship phones but this device has alot more storage space (even expandable storage) than what im used too from flagships for alot less money. The storage was what caught my eye mainly along with a android 10 update i got later on while having this device, I felt like I had my pixel 2 xl again. It has flaws like the camera (even though there are three) arnt the best of the best but it gets the job done, the camera on the front is better. There is one dead pixel on the screen but its not noticable. Unless the screen is completely black I usually forget its there. Sometimes when I have my phone in my back pocket I'll accidentally turn it on, call someone, open youtube because the touch screen is very sensitive and will turn on when touched so I usually have the screen facing away from my body while in my pocket. The battery life is okay its not great. The phone is very bright, even when turned all the way down, so that could be the problem. But when I have the screen off and in my pocket at work it'll last me all day. Its about the same size just a little taller than my dead pixel 2xl so its very comfortable in the hand. Im the kind of person that just wants something that'll last and get the job done for as long as I'm able before upgrading. I was iffy on it at first and was looking at buying another pixel after i got it because I was used to cheap phones of the past being just straight up garbage, with the lagging, no storage, slow, and plastic screens that just felt weird. This one isnt that. Its got plenty of space for my school books, music, and photos with much more space for light gaming. It even came with a screen protector and case for the clumsy people like myself. Overall for the price and space you get with it, I'm happy with my Blu G9 Pro. Its a great value for what you get and I hope it'll last me a little while before having to upgrade again.

Great phone if you don't mind no notifications and not receiving calls
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
This review is for the BLU G9 Pro (purchased in Sept 2020). This is a good phone, except for a couple of huge warts that make it pretty much a worthless piece of junk. Pros: - Camera works great. Love the wide angle feature too. Good quality images. - Fingerprint sensor works awesome. Works every tim
e. - Battery lasts the entire day. - Display is great. - Speakerphone is loud. Cons: - It kills apps in the ground. So you miss important notifications from various apps. - Misses calls and texts. - Volume controls only have 8 set points (including volume 0). So constantly faced with scenarios of too loud or too quiet. This phone kills apps in the background to save on battery power. This sounds like an OK thing, until you realize that it kills just about all apps, including Telegram, Slack, Groupme, and other messaging apps, medicine reminders, etc. This results in you missing important messages, notifications, and reminders from these apps. You can see this happening by doing the following: - Open any important apps that you know you don't want to miss notifications and reminders from. - Go into Settings->Apps&Notifications. - View list of all your apps. - In this list, click into each of these apps that are important to you and you want to make sure are running and sending notifications. - Because you just opened them, you will see that the these apps are, indeed, running (the Force Stop button will be enabled - meaning that the app is still running). - Set the phone aside for a few hours. - Go back into this same list of apps. - Click on each of these same apps again. - You will find that on most of these apps, that the Force Stop button is now disabled, meaning that this app has been terminated. In this state, this app CANNOT receive messages or do any kinds of notifications or reminders. YES, I know that this problem used to be an Android 10 thing, and that it supposedly has been fixed, or has a work-around. NO, the actual suggested fixes and workarounds, to fix the problem DO NOT WORK!!! The supposed work around is to turn off the battery optimizations for each of these apps. This work around DOES NOT work. I've spent many hours with BLU's technical support. They had no fix for it. I've done at least 4-5 factory resets on the phone. BLU had me send it in to be fixed. All they did was do another factory reset. It still didn't fix this problem. I've missed SO MANY messages from my family, work and reminders because of this!! - The regular cellular radio connection seems to have long term issues. It continually misses calls and texts. I'll send a text, and the receiving party won't receive it for hours. I'll miss incoming calls constantly. It does not matter what location I'm at. Cycling the radio on and off (using airplane mode) will suddenly make it so I can receive calls and texts. I'll literally send a text to my wife's phone, that is in the same room. She won't receive it for a very long time. I'll go into airplane mode, and then back out. She will then receive the text almost immediately. And also vice versa. I've owned other various phones using the same exact service (T-Mobile), running in the same locations, and never had this problem before.

Good for the Average User
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
Updates are about 3-5 months behind. Its a budget you are paying for a device and not the software. Split screen does not work on this device. Frustrating. Will continue but isn't looking well. Sound quality is passable. Phone looks great better than my note 10 plus. Fingerprint sensor will unlock fo
r other people. Not a secure or quality sensor. Again budget phone. This is the first Blu phone I have ever purchased so far the G9 Pro would be a go to phone for me in a pinch needing a phone cheap only feature I would like to see is NFC however due to security requirements and updates needed to maintain don't see it coming in at this price point get a NFC watch instead. Will follow up. If something changes. Update 2 after using for several hours outside and real world the antenna is weak compared to flagship phones tested against. Not a issue if you leave in a populous area . As others had mentioned the finger print sensor does not work with banking apps and any app using biometric security. This is either software/firmware issue or Financial firms not allowing the device. Will post another update in several days. But still worth the 180. After spending one day as my primary device received over heating warning several times.

WoW all that for this much little money? Really?
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
I will start with the good first impression great specs, the phone has a slim premium feel to it even thou it's a budget phone, touch screen is responsive and the operating system is running smooth, two apps of bloat wear that's it and can be uninstalled not stuck on the the phone you just purchased,
you can intigrat the micro sd card to be a part of the phone storage Now the not so good, first off the advertising on amazon states that the phone supports 128gb I tried two 128 gb micro sd cards and both failed so I can safely tell you this phone does not support that much storage, I slapped in a 64gb micro sd card and whala the phone configured successfully. This phone has no nfc support, and the finger print senser is not good enough for financial institution apps to enable the feature. In closing despite the short comings described above and a spec descrempency (which I will email and tell them) the value of what you get out of this phone for money ratio is very good and the phones is a keeper, but if this phone breaks down I will let you in on it, so buy in confidence it's a good deal. Update however here I am on Wednesday the second week of June and yesterday My calls cannot be heard in the phone I have to put the phone on speaker, thing we're failing fast on this phone in my case. At this price it really is a gambl scrutinize it test everything, back up you data and most important when your changing devices have a back up device. This phone has a one year Warranty, I just chose to return the phone. Good luck on your search.

Great value. Full hd screen, wireless charging, case, screen protector... Only thing is you HAVE to use the included case since the cameras stick out so far, and the matte plastic back is very slippery. You need to wait a couple of secs after taking a photo before switching apps, else the photo won't
save. This is in android 9 and 10beta. The Amazon review system is prompting me to mention battery life, value for money, and thickness: which all are good. Since this is a larger phone (compared to an iPhone 6s), it weighs down your pocket, and will make your elastic shorts sag. Phone randomly restarts every few days; touch ID works for unlocking screen, but doesn't work with most apps. Gyroscope is laggy, and compass drifts. No NFC. Main camera is great for landscapes. Slow shutter speed makes close up action shots of cats nice and blurry. Wide angle camera is low res, and very warm in low light enviroents. Selfie cam is good. No front flash.

Good all around budget smart phone
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
Overall, this is is a great phone for the money spent. 4 stars. I would recommend for the average smartphone user. Pros: -beautiful display -free case and screen protector -fast and responsive, no slow down when using apps -plently of ram (4gb) and massive storage space 128gb (wow) -good fingerprint
unlock and face unlock -slim, visually appealing design -works well for games like call of duty Mobile -I have cricket wireless and service is good, except in the most remote rural areas where I can't get a signal Cons -battery life, I feel like I always have to keep this thing on the charger because it's always running down -android security updates, BLU doesn't push the latest updates to the phone, still doesn't have Android 10 available, the last security update installed I think is from March 2020, not good -camera is mediocre, the camera will get the job done and has a lot of features and options, but the quality isn't the greatest -speaker phone and call volume could be a little louder

So satisfied with this phone after a couple of months
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
I've had this phone for a couple of months now and for the price this phone is the best phone anyone can own. Actually even if it was 100$ more than its price it would still be a steal. The 128GB space is such a step up for BLU considering my last Blu phone was only 64GB (I think). I save a lot of vi
deos from social media and the 128GB has been so clutch. Not having to worry about that is perhaps the best feature of this phone. Furthermore the 108mp setting for the Camera is extremely nice and I've been able to take super high definition selfies which was also a major upgrade compared to my previous blue phone. Last but not least, the wireless charging feature is an extremely convenient addition to have for a phone. If you do buy this phone make sure to get the yootech standing wireless charger and it charges super fast and does not require any fiddling to begin charging like the flat surface wireless charging pads annoyingly require. And it does wirelessly charge through cases in case anyone was wondering.

Problems from the beginning.
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
I have bought and used exclusively BLU top of the line (or close) phones since 2014. Bought this G9 Pro June 28, 2020. From the beginning I would find that the phone occasionally switched itself to airplane mode. Caused me to miss calls. About 6 months in (December 2020) it would not load new or upda
te apps unless I restarted the phone. This became a serious problem after a few months. Associated with that it would not allow me to take pictures because "SD CARD NOT AVAILABLE" but as soon as I restarted phone I could take a picture, but after a couple of minutes it would not connect to the SD card again. This problem extends to updating any and all apps, transferring data, etc. In the past 2 months the phone has begun to have what I will call "epilepsy" (no offense to those afflicted, my wife has hers under control mostly)... It will vibrate constantly, switch screens and blink rapidly, move app locations and has often made calls during these episodes. At the same time this occurred the phone started "locking" so that I cannot do anything until I press power button to get a blank screen and them touch finger print sensor to reactivate and it goes back to the screen I was on and I can then use it again. I have read other reports that mirror my issues and it is not isolated to this particular model. I have purchased a new phone NOT a BLU and will avoid BLU until users comments that report similar issues to what I have reported go away and they go back to the typical 5% whining issues that seem usual to users that expect a replacement phone to act exactly like their old one, even if it was a Android 4.1 version. Bottom line, DO NOT BUY A G9 PRO. And check user comments carefully for others BLU phones for camera issues, locking screens, seemingly automatic actions etc. It is dismaying to pay $199 for a phone and just 13 months after receiving and being REQUIRED to replace because of system failure and obvious poor manufacturing quality.

Best low-cost phone I've ever used.
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
Now that I've turned off all the social(ist) media on this phone, and denied google and all of its cohorts to access my personal data, the phone screams (meaning fast). The fingerprint reader is virtually instantaneous, and this phone allows me to shut down notifications, but use them for 5 minutes a
t a time, when I actually need them. No notifications from apps I don't want running in the background. No data collection (beyond that which NO ONE can avoid). No social(ist) media. I will not allow big tech (willingly) to collect data on me that we don't even allow law enforcement without due process, probable cause, and warrants. I love this phone, for that. The interface is very intuitive, and I can find what I need, or customize it very easily. For under $300, it's a grand slam.

I have owned a blu vivo xl before this one and I loved it! It had only 16gb storage that's why I bought this one. I could tell by the pics it looked thinner and it is. I liked the blu vivo because of the width. This took some getting used to as it's thinner and longer. I guess it works out because I
can see more of the pictures and pages on the phone. The storage is great, the screen quality is great, it's really responsive and the battery lasts 2 days. If you like a wider screen this may not be for you. If you don't mind it being thinner it is a really good phone. Bravo Blu you did it again! I forgot to mention this phone is the biggest fingerprint magnet phone I have ever owned.

Pretty great phone, no issues.
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
I had a Vivo XL4 and upgraded to this one. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and everything is working perfectly. I have only a few complaints. 1. The LED light is so dim compared to my XL4, the XL4 is super bright. 2. No selfie light. The XL4 had a front LED light and it was super bright. This
phone doesn't have a front light at all. Considering this phone is supposed to be better than the XL4, you would think it would have these things. Anyway, overall, it's a pretty great phone. It still takes pretty good pics, despite all the negative reviews. Love the wireless charge. No issues with Bluetooth or connectivity. Also comes with a really nice case. So far I am happy with it. Glad I didn't listen to the bad reviews.

Too many bugs to recommend
Style: G9 Pro
Color: Black
Update 6/7/2021: No longer a fan of BLU, this one just soured my opinion. Random reboots plagued it until it eventually got into a loop of 15 reboots back to back, volume jump issue, random unresponsive screen, bad security on fingerprint reader (some apps won't honor it as a result), WiFi flaky. I'm
moving on, it should really have stayed more stable than this. Upon arrival my G9 Pro was Android 9 and seemed to work fairly great! The very next week they pushed the Android 10 update out and that's when my troubles started. Multi-window app support didn't work (still doesn't), WiFi flakes out so much Android gives up on it, Bluetooth was unstable, random restarts, volume jumps from 10% to 30% (no mid-ground). Suddenly an update arrives (Oct '20) and the WiFi problems go away! There's still no multi-window support and Bluetooth still doesn't maintain a connection as it should. TL;DR: Blu actually delivered on updates and I'm blown away, only because they can't possibly have the same budget the big guys have. About the phone itself - it's honestly not bad. Storage is a non-issue, it's snappy, fingerprint reader is instant (had problems with the Vivo XL4), screen resolution is clear. I hung on longer than I should have and because of all that I don't know that I can still recommend this phone with all those tiny features still missing/having problems. Lastly, after reading other reviews, don't convince yourself this is an American phone. Designed in Florida? Maybe, but I severely doubt you can say this is in any way "made in US" and even more doubtful that it's ethically or sustainably made.

I've had this phone for a month and 9 days, over all, love it. Great camera, battery is not neither here nor there. But the phone is definitely fragile. The phone is big in size, causing it to fall out of my pocket, not even 2ft off the ground which when fell my screen protector cracked and now I can
't use my microphone, no one can here me when they call unless I use a headset. Now today I dropped my phone on a carpeted floor once again about 2ft I just took my case off to clean my phone and realize it shattered the back of the phone. As much as I love this phone, camera mostly, this is highly disappointing and now it's to late to return or what idk? 194.99 and 200 after costs...to break a month later, not worth the investment.

All around bad experience tbh
Style: G9 Pro

Kay this is my second g9 pro so now I know for sure it's a software issue. My complaints are : Everytime you close a webpage it erases whatever you typed.. every page refreshes when you leave it I miss calls ALOT. It just doesn't ring. Also the alarm rarely goes off.. I'm assuming it's tied into the
faulty notification settings. It decides when and if it's gonna give me any notifications which will NOT work for doing some work.. like Uber for example. It doesn't have multi windows Also also .. the volume has huge jumps. It has a GREAT speaker. But it's either too low or too high for my apartment.. lol. It's weird. It goes from like 2 to 5 or 6 . This may be a short list but these issues have a pretty big effect in daily life. Also the camera depth perception SUCKS. And the night camera is soo good it's hard to take a picture and properly convey the time of night/dawn/sunset. Also photographing any hill or distance will photograph clear... But very.... Very... No depth perceptionny idk. It's not good for nature landscape photos. Update to this: My charger port crapped out for no foreseen reason.(no damage etc).. And their version of customer service is you paying to mail the phone to them then waiting 10-15 business days for them to mail it back.
