  • These boards as the same sort of fun as skiing but at a fraction of the cost
I'm a rank beginner. This board was really to ride and has quite a good top speed. It can climb modest hills, steeper than that I carry it. I rode around my neighborhood on backstreets. Works on the road as well as the pavement (foot path). It can go over most cracks if you hit them with modest speed. My wife tried it, feel off a couple of times but is getting the hang of steering it and jumping off it she's loosing her balance. Would recommend at least a helmet. The remote works well, is simple and intuitive. Charging also for the remote and the board is simple and intuitive. I haven't yet run the board out of power, still had plenty of juice left after a run up the hill to the local cafe. It has one drive wheel, it can slip of wet roads and not give you the power you'd expect, but apart from loss of drive going uphill in the wet doesn't seem an issue. Putting more weight over the top of the drive wheel gives it more powder if it is slipping. The slow speed setting is good for learning, although when going uphill it helps to choose the higher setting as it seems to give it more climbing powder. This board is so much fun to drive around on. The break is a bit weak going down hills. It can break on the sort of hills it can climb and the higher speed setting also gives a stronger breaking powder. Steeper hills it will pick up speed even with the break fully on. I jump off if it is picking up too much speed and the break is enough for the board itself. Not too glamorous but it works to control speed. Jumping off forwards hitting the ground running seems the best strategy. The board came ready to go straight out of the box. That was a plus. No having to wait for it to charge. Was very intuitive. I ordered the more powerful board also because I want to be able to ride with my wife. The slow speed setting works well for my son on the pavement (foot path). He say's he'd prefer a mini as the board feels too big for him. Because he is so light he doesn't find it that easy to steer but he's getting the hang of it. ... show more

  • An absolute steal when compared to Acton & Genesis boards (plus, it actually works)
Color: Black
Update: I've finally tested the board's range on a flat beach path. At a steady 12 mph or so, with constant half-throttle application (and with a 145 lb rider), the low-battery tone started chiming at about 6.7 miles, and by 8.0 miles the board had basically given up the ghost. This is *plenty* of range for my needs, but obviously quite a bit less than the stated 10 mile range. Original review below... - - - - - I'd originally intended to buy a Genesis Tomahawk, but after a friend had nothing but trouble with his, I bought a $450 Acton Blink S... which bricked itself permanently after 4 miles of riding (and spontaneously reversed the function of the forward/back slider on its remote, throwing me off the board). Frustrated, I bought the bargain-basement Blitzart Tornado for $279, largely because I saw how responsive the company had been to quality issues. That was three weeks ago, and 35 miles later I'm totally sold on this board. It looks great, the build quality is excellent, it handles very well, the built-in handle is something that should be on *every* board, and the big 3.5" wheels roll over pretty much anything (I mean, within sensible limits). The motor is pretty low on torque and struggles with steep hills, but that also means it's easier to modulate the throttle than it is on more powerful boards... great for beginners. I'm a 145-lb guy, and my speedometer app tells me I'm topping out at exactly 16 mph, which isn't blazing fast. But since I'm using it primarily on crowded beach paths, going any faster than that probably isn't terribly smart.... I can't really speak to range, as the furthest I've taken the Tornado on one trip is 6.5 relatively-flat miles. Two niggles, one minor and one slightly less minor: first, the brakes work well when the board is moving quickly, but at low speed they don't do much...and predicting when they'll "bite" when sliding the remote toggle back to slow down is difficult. Just keep yourself braced and you should be ok (and wear a helmet). Secondly, I don't have any idea at any given point how much juice the board has. There are three red LEDs on the remote to indicate charge, but they don't seem to mean anything. Tackle a big hill on a full charge and you'll see the indicated charge drop down to two (or one) LEDs, then back up to three on flat ground. Even on flat ground, the LEDs sometimes dance back and forth at various levels. But you know what? This is a $279 electric longboard, and EVERYTHING WORKS. I'll happily accept a touchy brake and battery level mysteries in exchange for a board that's more reliable and just as well built as others that cost nearly twice as much. Completely satisfied with the Blitzart. ... show more

  • Be Prepared for failed battery
UPDATE: 12/31/2019. After ordering a new battery for an additional $79, (they refused to offer any assistance for their poor quality power cell) I finally received this response, and I quote: “ Sorry for the late response. Those Lithium-ion battery is different than cell phone or laptop batteries. These battery we used for electric skateboard or scooter is called power battery, They tend to drain 5-20 times faster than regular batteries. Even for Boosted board which is a $1600+ skateboard, only comes with 6 months warranty for their skateboards.” Ordered the Tornado last year shortly after Thanksgiving. It didn't get much use until last Spring/early Summer. Our son maybe used it 15 times during the summer, just around the block to get to his friend's house. Haven't used it since the Fall began, as he is busy with school and its activities. A few days ago, decided to plug it in and give it a charge, since the weather here in the Chicago area during the holidays is expected to be mild. Battery pack is dead. Won't charge. Less than a year of use. Tested the charger and it is fine. We've never had a product with such a poor quality rechargeable battery pack. Not sure if we'll get a new one. Update: after discussing the problem with customer service, they agree it’s the battery. No price break offered. $80. Bottom line, I do not recommend this product. So, to sum it all up, it’s buyer beware with this company. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for a quality product. ... show more
