Continued use on a regular basis will keep the surface in tip-top shape to minimize sticking and enhance flavors and ensure even heat distribution.     • Seems to work, but...

Well, I am the guy that gets what the mfg recommended so that maintenance can't be blamed on me. I watched the videos and read instructions for this where it states to use 3 tablespoons for 36" griddle, but talks about a light coat 3-5 times for seasoning. The first coat I put 3 tablespoons as directed, but it was proving far too much, pooling and I could not thin fast enough. It even solidified a bit, so I had to scrape really well to get it all off. After I was able to scrape it all, the next 4 applications went better as I only added one tablespoon. A bit stressful at first, but the end result worked nicely and it was a perfect non stick surface that worked well so far. Experts have said you can season with vegetable oils, not meat, but I liked this had conditioner I could apply every couple months as well. ... show more

I used this seasoning to condition my new griddle and was very pleased with the outcome. If you do the seasoning as suggested, you will use the entire jar on a 36" griddle. Take your time and let each application smoke off completely before applying another coat. Three to four produce a nice even color.
