  • Great holster and it fits the Steyr m9!
Ok, so this holster does exactly what i wanted in every facet of the game. Thumb drive release works great though there is not much of an audible click when the light locks in. I have not had the issue with the pistol getting stuck as some have have, but it looks like that issue might stem from the mounting thumb screw on the light, just make sure the two raised nips are horizontal in relation to the muzzle of the pistol and it shouldnt be an issue. Keep in mind, this holster is HUGE, its a tactical holster and will be fairly difficult to concealed carry with, i didnt buy it for that so its not an issue for me, but its just something to keep in mind. When using the blackhawk SERPA Quick Disconnect system the holster mounts comfortably and solidly to all serpa platforms including the thigh holster which everyone seems to be having an issue with. I have all of my serpa holsters set up with the QD mounts so it was a no brainer for me. I have tried this with every full size and compact pistol i have with a rail. it fit ALMOST everything perfectly. Basically as long as the tlr-1 or 2 light fit the pistol, it will fit in the holster. YES THIS HOLSTER WILL FIT A STEYR M9-A1 there is plenty of room. I know the holsters for the steyr pistols are hard to come by so i figured that deserved special mention. Mine is the M variant but it should work fine with the L9-A1 (or the other calibers .40 and .357sig) other pistols i have tested with it m&p 45 sig 226r sig 1911 traditional tac ops hk p30 beretta px4 springfield xd 45 tactical Polymer 80 glock build (polymer 80 frame and slide) TLR 1 would not fit (therefore the holster will not work with) hk45c Magnum Research MR9 eagle (walther p99 licensed clone) Springfield XD 45 mod 2 sub compact (not a surprise as its a sub compact, but i figured id mention it) I do not have any of those Recover tactical rail grips they make for the 1911 and beretta 92, but the way the holster is designed I dont see why they wouldnt work, but if someone does have one, they will probably mention it in a review. I'm very happy with this holster and because of its versatility ill probably never need another one, BUT if i did, i wouldnt hesitate to buy one ... show more

  • Great holster
It's a little bulky for EDC but over all on a drop leg platform or open carry situation is perfect. Fits the TLR 1 flashlight and almost any pistol that it's on. Works great with glock 17 and 34, HK, and springfield xd that I've tested it on.

  • multi-fit, kinda
the holster requires some practice so that you're not pulling your pants up to your armpits while trying to draw. there were lots of pieces provided to customize the holster for various pistols. Mine, an FN Five Seven did not require any of these and i thought, "Oh good, little need for additional pieces". it still is a bit of a learning curve to draw at the right angle so the sidearm and light does not bind in the holster. AND you will need a couple of little screws if you want to add a thumb-break extension, my bag didn't include them. ... show more

  • Impressive…. Most impressive
This is a great holster for the price paid Used in a practical pistol match and held my g34 with optic phenomenally. No issues drawing or re-holstering. The construction feels solid and I think long term durability should not be a concern. It fit a bladetech type clip with no issue. As others have said, it would not be my first choice as a duty holster; if you try, you can worm your finger in and actually pull the trigger. It does take a good amount of effort and highly unlikely to happen unintentionally, but still a drawback. I suppose this is the price you pay for a universally fitting holster I am extremely happy with this holster and it should fit my needs wonderfully. All for about $40! The blackhawk name gets a bit bashed around online, but the omnivore has exceeded my expectations. Seller was great, quick processing and shipping and the lowest price I saw. ... show more

  • Very adaptable
I bought this for a Tisas P9. It has an Olight flashlight on it and I could not find any other holster that would fit. When I called the customer service line they said it wouldn't fit in their holster either. But, all I had to do was reverse the mounting plate for the Olight and it fit perfectly. I even bought a second one to have pre-installed on another rig so I never have to swap it over. I might even buy a third one to turn into a chest rig for the same pistol. ... show more

  • Honestly, disappointing.
I also have the non-LB Omnivore. That one is great with everything I've used it on. The rail attachment operates cleanly, even with wider rails. It adequately covers the trigger, both DA and SA/striker. This one is inferior on both those aspects. It's so tight on the light that it scrapes and scratches on every draw and reholster. It never has a smooth draw. However, that's not the worst part. It leaves triggers way too exposed. As I measured, there has to be less than 0.75in from the trigger to the light switch for this holster to adequately cover the trigger. Of those with rails, most DA triggers are about 1in and SA/striker triggers are about 1.5in. For any reasonable safety standards, a holster that doesn't properly cover the trigger is unacceptable. Three stars for good mounting and level 2 mechanism operation. ... show more

  • Great Holster, great quality
Bought for my Canik with flashlight and easy to put together and fit, works perfectly, looks good and great solid construction. Love it!

  • Terrible trigger protection - Dangerous
I wanted to like this holster, love the idea of a do all range holster. But the amount of trigger exposed and truly massive gaps not only from the side of the gun but top down is negligent to say the least. I'm sure some of the "150" compatible guns will get full trigger protection. But a vp9 and sig M18 definitely do not. Other than that, the materials and construction of the holster are solid, mounting options and stability are great. Even though the trigger wasn't protected, the gun was held firmly while inserted. This could have been great, but the egregious trigger protection makes this an absolute no go. ... show more
