I didn't expect this but it's true. Six Overseas paint pens for $12 sounds like they would be junk. I was desperate to find a reliable black paint pen for an automotive exterior project. Over the past few weeks, I bought 3 other brands. Each one of them annoyed me in some way...flooding paint, running out quickly, inability to smooth out nicely, etc. So these came in - and I was very surprised. I only bought them because the previous reviews were unusually good. The nice thing here is that the control is really good....even and consistent flow. It levels out well, semi-thick- not runny. The tip size works well for my projects - painting in grooves of a recessed stainless steel item. I let the parts dry and then washed them in hot soapy water, the paint held great! Nice shine. NOTE: WORK FAST. The paint starts to thicken and set within2-3 minutes, so if you have to come back to your starting point, the fresh paint from the pen won't blend with what you did a few minutes before. It will leave a bump spot rather than smooth in. My items were all painted on a level surface in 70 degree conditions - optimal setting. I have not tried them on vertical objects. At this price these paint pens are a bargain. I tried pens that were $17, $10 and $7 EACH - two of those from a local craft/art supply store. None of them did better than these "Overseas" pens. So be amazed like I was. I will be buying more of them in the future. ... show more
